Chapter 8: Pinky Promise

Brady began to talk quietly so his guy friends wouldn't hear him if they were eavesdropping.

Brady: Remember that awful dream I had the other day?

Renee: Yeah...what about it?

Brady: That guy from my dream not only scared me, but he said he's my real dad.

Brady: He also gave me a pendant that allows me to see him in my dreams. He showed her the necklace he's been hiding underneath his shirt.

Renee: Are you serious about this? I wish you had told me this a bit earlier.

Brady: I didn't tell you this because I wouldn't be able to see him again if I did.

Brady: But you're the only one who knows about this. Not even my parents.

Renee: Brady I don't have a very good feeling about this.

Renee: It seems like you still can't trust whatever he says. You already have parents so what does he want?

Renee: I hope he doesn't find out you told me.

Brady: I don't know...I'm still confused, Renee.

Renee: But I promise you, this will be our secret.

They made a pinky promise and swore to not tell anyone about Brady's unusual dreams about his biological dad. When they were done, they both went right back to where everyone else was.

Brady: Guys I'm back. So sorry for taking so long.

Keeran: Hey Brady, I just won a round against Isaiah haha.

Brady: Wow that's nice. Can I take his place now?

Brady: I don't mind playing a little game with you.

Keeran: With a confident expression. Won't back down. Challenge accepted.

Brady: Let's do it.

Brady and Keeran went ahead and started playing against each other on the gaming machines using controllers.

Keeran: Wow Brady you're so good. But I'll defeat you.

Brady: I wouldn't talk if I were you hahaha. He continued to make his moves until he beat Keeran.

Brady: Yes, got you!

Jake: Damn it....I was so close! He threw his controller on the ground since he lost it at the moment.

Jake: Then his expression immediately changed once he calmed down. But anyways you're too good Brady.

Brady: Sorry I beat you, but I got my victory haha.

The kids got back just in time the food arrived like Brady had initially promised his parents. It finally came to the moment for Brady to blow out the candles on the cake.

Ricky: Brady, make a wish.

Brady: Okay, uncle Ricky! After a few seconds, he blew out the candles and then everyone clapped.

Vasilisa: Happy birthday, my nephew. I wish nobody but the best for you.

Brady: Thank you so much, aunt Vasalisa.

In the afternoon, Renee was seen napping in her room since she's still very much exhausted from spending hours at Brady's party with his friends all morning. As she slept, she found herself in the middle of a forest playing hide and seek with Keeran and Isaiah.

Isaiah: Found you! Now it's your turn to count.

Renee: Aww dang it...I thought you couldn't find me.

Renee: So I guess it's time for me to find you both?

Keeran: Yeah since you're discovered, you have to find us.

When they disappeared after a while, she searched around and tried to find them, but they were nowhere to be found. Minutes passed and she had no luck.

Renee: On the inside. Where are they? I'm starting to get nervous...

Renee: Keeran? Isaiah? Where are you?

However, when Renee blinked again, she saw Stefan the creepy aristocrat with his usual fancy style of clothing and wearing a creepy smile on his face. He appeared with his friends Kade and Roger.

Stefan: Hello little girl...got lost while playing hide and seek, eh?

Kade: Yeah, you don't seem to know where you're friends are.

Renee: She lied. No, I'm not lost...I know where my friends are.

Stefan: Let us help you find them. What's your name?

Renee: I'm not telling you. You seem very suspicious.

Stefan: Me? Suspicious? I'm not a bad person. I'm trying to keep you safe.

Renee: I don't buy it. I'm heading off to find my friends myself. I don't need your help.

She tried to walk off but before she could realize, Stefan and his male companions disappeared.

Renee: She thought to herself. Huh, where did they go?

She continued to walk away and a few minutes after she was almost out of the forest, she saw the men right in front of her again.

Stefan: Found you again. Don't try to get away from us. It's useless.

Kade: That's right we only want to help you, little girl.

Renee: She screamed. AHHH!!

She ran to the opposite direction where the forest was, however just like Stefan said, her attempts were useless. She bumped into Stefan and his friends again. Everything turned dark as her eyes shut. She woke up and found herself sitting on a chair with ropes tied on her arms behind her back.

Stefan: He stood up from where he sat. Welcome back. Did you sleep well?

Roger: You aren't going anywhere unless you tell us your name.

Renee: No I won't! What do you want with me?

Kade: No reason to be afraid. Just tell us your name and we will spare your life.

Kade and Rogers got closer to her and then slowly took out their knife. They wanted to make her bleed and cut her throat for her to speak up.

Renee: STOP! DON'T!

Renee woke up with a start and the guys were gone from her sight.

Renee: On the inside. Omg...what was that?!

She slowly got up from her bed and pinched herself. It was confirmed she wasn't dreaming any more.

Renee: On the inside. I think I need to tell Brady...
