Kai hadn't been up for much longer than Amelia, neither of them said a word to each other, Kai's arms embraced her.

It was a comfortable silence that Amelia never experienced with anybody else. Their fingers danced on her bare arm.

They were able to sleep in that day. Amelia's mind was racing although she laid there still.

She had been wanting to tell Kai something all morning. She didn't know how to get it off her chest.

Amelia turned her body into theirs. Kai pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Good morning." Their voice was laced with sleep.

"Morning." Amelia muttered.

It went silent again, for awhile before Amelia gained the courage to tell them what she had been wanting to get out all morning.

"Kai?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm four years sober today. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but I wanted to tell you, just cause." Amelia shrugged.

Kai lifted her chin, forcing her to look in their eyes.

"four years is something to be proud of. I'm so proud of you. I know how hard you work on staying sober." Amelia smiled, a blush formed on her cheeks.

"Thank you."
