You silence me with flowers.

They are the gentle and beautiful thieves of my freedom.

You hang on me broken wings.

They are the reminder of what I could have been but I am not.

All that you surround me with falls under the veil of kindness yet they are anything but that.

You dress the truth with pretty lies, for naked you find truth offensive.

Shameless even.

But I was born true darling.

No matter what ruins you surround me with, I was born to rise.

I was born to fly.
