When Steve Harrington started high school, he was immediately welcomed into the popular group. He had always been popular in middle school, so it was no surprise when he was quickly accepted by the popular kids at Hawkins High.

It was during this time that Steve started to hear rumors about Eddie Munson. He heard that Eddie was a freak and that he was an outcast. Steve didn't know the details, but he didn't need to. All he knew was that Eddie was different and that made him a target for the popular kids to pick on.

Steve didn't think too much about Eddie at first. He had bigger things to worry about, like making sure he was fitting in with the rest of the popular kids. He didn't want to be left out or be seen as an freak, so he joined in with the other kids in teasing and bullying Eddie.

Looking back, Steve knew it was wrong. He knew he should have stood up for Eddie or at least not participated in the cruel behavior. But, at the time, he didn't know any better. He was just a teenager trying to fit in and be accepted by his peers.

It wasn't until later that Steve realized just how wrong he had been. When he was fighting alongside his friends against the horrors of the Upside Down and Vecna, he realized how much he had misjudged Eddie. He saw firsthand how brave and strong Eddie could be when he needed to be.

It was after they defeated Vecna and left the Upside Down that Steve started to see Eddie in a different light. He finally saw past the rumors and the teasing and saw a kind and caring person. It was then that he started to feel something more for Eddie.

But Steve also knew that their relationship could never be more than just a secret. It was the 80s, and being openly gay was still illegal and not accepted by the majority of society. Steve didn't want to put Eddie in danger or risk his own reputation by being in a relationship with him.

It wasn't until one day when Steve went to Eddie's trailer that everything changed. He had gone there many times before, but this time was different. When Eddie opened the door, Steve hesitated before walking in. He didn't know what was happening, but he knew that something had shifted between them.

As they stood there, looking at each other, Steve felt his heart beating faster. He wanted to reach out and grab Eddie, to pull him close and kiss him. And as he leaned in, he felt Eddie reciprocate, and they finally kissed.

It was like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. They finally admitted to each other what they had been feeling for so long. It wasn't until a few weeks later that they started to tell their friends, like Robin and Nancy, and the kids, like Dustin, Lucas, Max, Eleven, Mike, and Will.

Their friends were surprised but supportive. They could see how much Steve and Eddie meant to each other, and they didn't want them to hide who they were. It was like a weight had been lifted from their shoulders, and they could finally be themselves around their friends.

Even though they had to keep their relationship a secret from everyone else, they were happy just being with each other. They would sneak around and find hidden spots to be alone, and they cherished every moment they could spend together.

As time went on, Steve and Eddie grew closer, and their love for each other only deepened. They knew that they couldn't be openly gay, but they didn't care. They were in love and happy, and that was all that mattered.

Looking back, Steve knew that he had made a lot of mistakes in high school. He had hurt people and been hurt by others. But he also knew that he had grown and changed. He had learned to see beyond the rumors and the teasing and to embrace those who were different.

And most importantly, he had found love in the unlikeliest of places. He had found a love that was pure and strong and would last a lifetime. No matter what society thought or said, he and Eddie were in love, and that was all that mattered.
