Steve Harrington felt uneasy as he waited for his date to return from the bathroom. The woman he had agreed to go on a date with had turned out to be nothing like he had expected, and the evening was not going well. Steve had slipped away to the outdoor patio for some fresh air, and as he stood there, he saw the waiter from his table walking past.

But up close, Steve saw the man in a different light. His long, curly brown hair was tied back in a ponytail, and his arms were covered in intricate tattoos. Steve couldn't help but stare.

The man noticed Steve's gaze and snapped his fingers in front of his face. "Take a picture, it'll last longer," he joked. "My name's Eddie Munson, by the way." He extended his hand, and Steve shook it, feeling a sense of familiarity.

Eddie's words hit Steve like a ton of bricks. Of course, he remembered Eddie. In high school, Steve had been a bit of a jerk, and he had tormented Eddie, who he remembered being the weird kid and the freak of Hawkins high. But here he was, years later, and Eddie had transformed into a attractive and confident man you could not recognize at first sight.

Steve apologized, explaining that he had changed since high school and that he was sorry for what he had done to Eddie back then. Eddie nodded, saying that he had forgiven him a long time ago. They sat down on the sidewalk and talked and laughed, and Steve found himself enjoying Eddie's company way more than his date's.

When Eddie asked why Steve was there of all places, he hesitated before admitting that he was on a date. Steve confessed that it wasn't going well and the women has probably left him by now, and Eddie felt bad for him, he could not lie he has always found Steve attractive even more now that the have grown up more and he could not understand how someone would just ditch him like that. Steve then asked Eddie why he was out here, Eddie explained that his shift had just ended and he enjoyed going outside at night sometimes. They continued to talk and Catch up with each other. After a while, Steve started to get up and go to the door but before he did, Eddie grabbed his wrist and nervously said, "If you're really not enjoying your date, why don't you ditch and go out on a date with me instead? I know it out of nowhere but I really really like and I like hanging out with you"

At first, Steve thought Eddie was joking, but the sincerity on his face and in his voice was undeniable. With a random surge of courage, Steve cupped Eddie's cheek then he leaned in and kissed Eddie - a kiss that was reciprocated with equal passion. It did not last long but it held so much meaning to both of them.

As they pulled away, Steve knew he had made the right choice by staying with Eddie. He laughed with him, feeling grateful he had Eddie now. He knew that he had a lot to make up for and a lot to know about each other, but he was ready to try. After a while With Eddie, Steve had realized he finally found someone who saw him for who he was and had a strong connection with. It was a feeling he had never experienced before, and he knew he wanted to hold on to it for as long as he could. And Eddie had found someone who accepted him and saw him as someone worth love. Steve and Eddie where happy for the turn of events that night even years later.
