LoneGhost as The Protector

the_gentle_joker as Jessie Leon

The Protector struts around the TARDIS with renewed energy, taking time to show off yet another wardrobe change. This time she wore a red coat that hung down past her knees along with a black vest with red polk-a-dots and a black collared shirt underneath. She opted to leave the top button undone. She paired this with light gray trousers and brown boots, completing the ensemble with a gray beanie. The Time Lady looked at Jessie, searching for approval. "How's this?" She asked.

"Hmm..." Jessie ponders to herself, looking up and down at the Protector's attire. "I think it's an improvement! I just, well, don't understand the polk-a-dots."

"Ah! So I'm getting closer. Good to know." The Protector pulls the demat lever and the TARDIS takes flight.

"It's just been a while since I've been a woman, I'm trying to master the fashion of it all over again

"It's just been a while since I've been a woman, I'm trying to master the fashion of it all over again." The Time Lady explained. "You should've seen me the last time, mad orange hair! Horrible vision though and a bad memory..." She operated the console, giving Jessie time to ponder whether she actually believed these statements.

"What do you mean you 'were' a woman? Like, you became something else instead?" Jessie was instantly flooded with more questions about the Protector than she previously had. "Wait, so are you able to change your appearance? Your gender? Your whole identity!?"

She looked up from the console, a little surprised. It had slipped her mind she was travelling with a new person who wasn't in the know. "Uh, oh yeah I guess I forgot to explain uhmm..." She flipped all the right switches and let the TARDIS cruise on automatic while she stepped away from the console and struggled to find the words to explain the nature of her people.

"You see, it's like...I can't really control it. There used to be more people like me and some of them could but...I never really figured that out. Uhh, the thing is that...well my people don't just die we sort of reform into new bodies." She did her best to explain to the human across the console. "The night I arrived in your yard, on Halloween. I had just changed right before you met me. "The truth is..." She paused to think. "The truth is I'm still figuring out this me. Please tell me this is making sense."

With her arms folded together, Jessie tried to wrap everything she had told her. Cheating death? Changing bodies? What did any of this mean? It was so much for her small, human mind to comprehend. She sighed, relaxing her shoulders as she finally gives into the madness that she's been part of these past couple of days. "I... I don't quite understand, but I think the more questions I ask the more questions will be raised." Jessie admitted. "But I will ask, every time you change, are you still the same person you are that you were before? Like, you're still 'you' and not someone else?"
