LoneGhost as The Protector

the_gentle_joker as Jessie Leon

Perhaps it was just cheap, lazy special effects or a mediocre experience, but Jessie could not find herself feeling frightened by Hollywood's latest slasher thriller. Perhaps she had seen the true horrors of the universe that any actor wearing a spooky mask just didn't have effect on her anymore. With a sigh, Jessie left the theater and walked back home all by herself. It was a lonely night for her and she wasn't sure what to do. If only something exciting where to suddenly happen. Something like that one fateful night on halloween.

As she approached her home she saw the that big blue box with the glowing lights standing on the street corner. It had been weeks since she last saw it but it was finally back.

Jessie stood still in her tracks. It was her. She was back! Finally, after being separated for a while, the chance to be reunited with someone that brought her excitement had returned for her. With a hop and skip, Jessie dashed towards the blue wooden doors of the Tardis. Knocking exactly three times, she waited patiently for the mad woman in a box to appear in her life once more.

The doors swung open and The Protector pulled her in by her wrist, then shut the doors behind her. "Don't laugh."  The Time Lady was dressed in white button up collared shirt with a velvet blazer over it and her usual grey beanie. What was quite different however was the plaid skirt and black leggings she had paired with the outfit, although she was wearing her usual black boots. "Didn't really try out the whole skirt/dress thing last time around, figured I'd give it a go. What do you think?"

Surprised to see the new attire the Protector was wearing, Jessie wasn't sure what to really say. She examined it up and down, inspecting every piece of fabric of her attire. "Well..." She said. "It's certainly different."

"Different's always more interesting. I'll take that as a compliment." The Protector walks over to console and preps the TARDIS for flight. "So, how's life?"

"Yeah, about that..." She replied, looking to her side. "Well, can we just get out of here? You know, for a while?"

"Something you're running from? Or to?" The Protector asked.

"Nah, I just... don't really feel like being on Earth right now. Just want to explore the galaxy again, I suppose." Jessie replied.

"I know what you need! A good old fashioned mind expanding adventure. Lucky for you, I know just the place." The Protector pulled the demat lever causing the Police Box to dematerialize.

She began to circle the console, interacting with the appropriate controls as needed. "Future, space, we'll say somewhere in the 9th spiral...that should do it." She pushed the demat lever back to its default position and the TARDIS arrived on the alien world of Calvara, a cold planet where the nights were far longer than the days. The atmosphere was a gloomy grey but the surface was red orange. They arrived in the capital city in the middle of the biggest festival of this rotation. "Brace yourself, Jessie, because you're about to step foot on your first alien planet! How's it feel, exciting? Getting those first planet jitters?"
