Halloween 8: Michael Returns

Chapter 5

John pulls up to the house and gets out of the car. He walks in "Hey!" he said as Molly smiles and hugs him, "Oh my god thank god you're here." Molly said in relief. John smiles as Tom sees his dad, "Hey dad!" he said smiling. "Tom!! Hello!!" He said. "Thank god you're here." Tom said. "Your mother said the same thing." John said as Molly gigged a bit. "I can't believe he's back." Molly said. "Yeah well, we don't know one hundred percent that he's coming back this year, grandma just thinks he is." Tom said. "He has a point." John said. "Well every Halloween from now on, we need to be prepared for Michael, whether he comes for us or not, we need to be ready." Molly said. As John and Tom nod to agree.
        It was now dark out, the sound of the wind whistling and the fall leaves scraping against the pavement. Tom was in bed with the tv on, he was watching Stranger Things. He's so tired he's trying to keep his eyes open, then all of a sudden he falls asleep, he hears a loud scream as he wakes up and jumps out of bed. "Mom, Dad?" He calls out for them but he gets no response. He walks up to their bedroom and opens the door. Michael is stabbing Molly and John in their sleep. Tom screams and runs downstairs to the front door and runs out of the house, he gets into the car and locks the door. Then all of a sudden, he hears breaking in the backseat. John screams as Michael chokes him to death and then he wakes up screaming. John and Molly don't hear him screaming. He gets up and puts water all over his face, he drinks some water then goes back into bed.
        The alarm clock goes off as John wakes up and stops it. "Oh god, happy halloween baby." He said to Molly. She got up and turned towards him. "Oh god, don't remind me." Molly said Tom gets up and gets dressed for school. He goes downstairs where Molly and John are making morning coffee. "Today is the day." Tom said. "That you take off of school." John said. "He will be fine, babe." Molly said, smiling at Tom. "Thanks mom, see dad, mom is letting me go." Tom said "Yeah well you're lucky your mom is here because it was just me, you wouldn't be going." John said. "I'm taking off from work today." John said. "Well that's you." Tom said. "Mom, it's time to go." He said as Molly got her keys and took him to school.
        Molly drops him off as he gets out. "Hey babe!" Mia said jumpscaring him. "Everytime." Tom said. "Huh?" she said, confused. "Nothing... hey babe." he said, giving her a smile. "Gotta go to therapy first period." Tom said. "Um... why didn't you say Happy Halloween to me?" He continued. "Oh, because you know... your family is not big on Halloween so I don't know if it was sensitive to you." Mia said being supportive. "Aww, thank you Mia, I appreciate it." Tom said. "Anything for you." Mia said, kissing him and then walking to class.
