Space jump tech is still developing, and humanity is currently limited to intragalactic exploration. A ship's crew gets stranded in the future and have to explore the galaxy to piece together how to get home.
Misaki glares at me. "Kay, I smell a bad idea." I smile at her. "Oh, not at all. I'm doing something I think I should have done days ago." The others look at each other, worried. They follow me to the Engineering/Science floor, where I pick through that crate of scrap from before. "Ooh, nevermind that. This is what I want." I pull out one of the broken Plasma Conductors. This worries them even more. "Kay, are you okay?" Belle asks me as we leave the Science lab.

"Oh, yeah. Never felt better." We head down to the brig level. As soon as the door opens to this floor, the girls all get the picture. "Kay! You're not like this." Misaki says. "I know I'm not." Belle grabs my shoulder trying to hold me back. "Kay, think of what she said." I shove through her, then turn around. "I know, but this is one of those obstacles that I need to face head on or else I'll never overcome it." I turn and keep walking. They hurry to follow.
We get to Hikari's cell. She stands up. "Well, Perry. What brings you for a visit? Looking for more humiliation?" I smile back, having not flinched at my deadname. "Nope, actually I wanted to have a chat with you. Offer you a couple options." Hikari laughs. "HA! You? Offer me options?" Misaki frowns. "Remember which side of the cell you're on." Hikari laughs again. "Oh please, Red. Don't humiliate yourself."
I go and place my hand on the datapad and input a number. This releases the field keeping Hikari in her cell. "So, are you finally deciding to take me on?" I smile as I walk back around towards her. Snap.Crackle. I touch my left hand to the item in my right, which is now is a sword in its sheath. A Katana to be specific. However, when I draw it, the blade is made from pure plasma energy. "Kay?" Misaki slows her pace and watches me. Belle tugs on her shirt. "That looks kinda like the sword we saw on the screen." Misaki closes in while closely watching me. I walk right into the cell and point the sword at the circle on her chest. "Give me one reason to not skewer you right this second." She laughs. "You don't have it in you."
"I don't know if I would push that luck. Kay just met her alternate from this timeline and she's a damn badass space pirate... with a sword and no care in the world." Belle points out. Hikari locks eyes with me. "Here in this timeline, they call my alt 'Crazy Kay' the Space Pirate." I pull the sword away from her chest and turn around. "HA! I knew you didn't–" Instantly, I drop to the floor, spin and slice her left leg. Slash. "Yeowwww!!!! You bitch!" I stand up and sheath the sword, glaring at Hikari. "Yeah, you're half right. Perry wouldn't have had it in him. But Kay? She definitely has it in her." Misaki and the twins just stare at me, open mouthed. "You know, babe. Maybe I will get that haircut." Her eyes glow. "Really?"
"Hey, what about me?!" Hikari screams at me with a bleeding leg. I smile. "You're lucky I only struck you once. Double lucky that I chose your leg and not your chest." That shut her up. "Look, here is my offer. We ran across a colony on Mars. We will drop you off there and you can do whatever you want. You get this one chance. Or." I slowly unsheath the sword again. Sling. Slash. This time across her left arm. "OWWW! YOU'VE GOTTA STOP THAT!"
