Summer
Short smut scene

On the first day of the public pool being open, the Heffleys had managed to convince the Hardings to go with them to the pool. No one other than Susan really wanted to go and for everyone else it would be borderline torture. Cynthia and Alex had never been to a public pool before and were immediately grossed out. It had been some time since the talent show and Cynthia and Rodrick were now allowed to be friends and hang out again. They just still weren't supposed to date, which they were.

Cynthia looked down at the pool and could've sworn that the water was green. So obviously, she just laid in her bikini to suntan even though even that felt unclean. Alex stayed out of the water as well, even though Greg tried to get him to come in with him. It was disgusting. When Rodrick began blasting his music right next to her, she turned over on the chair to look at him playing drums in the air.

Suddenly, someone turned off the music and she lifted up her sunglasses to see who it was. Lenwood. He looked down at her with a smirk, they definitely had a bit of a history. During her short little breakup and the time where her and Rodrick weren't dating, her and Lenwood had a very small thing. It only consisted of the occasional make out session and casual dates, nothing enough to count him as her boyfriend though.

Still, it felt weird to see him. He had greeted the others with a simple "sir" and "ma'am" but when he saw Cynthia, he winked. Rodrick saw and gave her a weird look which made her want to go back to her own state. When Lenwood walked away, Rodrick moved his chair closer to Cynthias. He leaned close to whisper in her ear but it was so hard to do anything without the suspicion of their parents.

"What was that?" Rodrick whispered, raising an eyebrow. She shrugged and just shook her head to say she didn't know although she definitely did. At least for the rest of the summer, she would be around Rodrick.

Greg however wanted to be by Holly more often, yet other than through Alex, he had no way to talk to her. The last day of school, everyone was having their yearbooks signed and so Greg walked up to her. Alex was elsewhere, meaning he had a small amount of time to talk.

"Hey Holly!" Greg smiled and walked closer to her. She returned that greeting and asked to do exactly what he wanted.

"Can i sign your yearbook?" She asked, seemingly innocent and clueless towards Greg's intentions. He nodded.

"Put your number down too?" He asked quietly. She looked at him and agreed, beginning to do as he asked and writing it. The bell rang too soon, she didn't finish writing down her number before her friends dragged her out. It was probably so that they could go see the little bits of teenage romance stuff in person, seeing as her and Alex were pretty much official. Still, Greg never gave up.

Walking down the steps, Greg saw Rowley talking to Holly as she signed his yearbook. He walked up and tried to bring up the fact that she didn't finish writing down her number, yet to no avail. Alex walked up beside Holly and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, distracting her along with the fact that Cynthia and Rodrick were walking up together. Heather Hills pulled up right after, getting Holly to get in. Alex gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before going over to where his sister and her boyfriend stood together.

Cynthia walked up to her best friends car, starting up a small and short conversation where they simply made fun of the middle schoolers for their whole yearbook shenanigans. It was so entertaining to watch them obsess over getting it signed.

Rodrick stood beside her, his hand resting on the small of her back. Though when Heather and her other friend drove off, they managed to run over his foot. He yelped in pain and jumped around holding his foot, ignoring the laughter from the girl when she doubled over.
