Pete came back to the hotel, he wasn't too sure if that was a good idea but at that moment it was all he could think about.

He didn't know how everything escalated so quickly and how he completely lost contact with Vegas. He should have been more careful, he knew that. He blamed himself over and over again.

Was it a good idea to talk about it with Vegas? He already had lots in his mind... yet Pete didn't want to hide it because, if someone really had access to that phone, Vegas was involved as much as he was and needed to know the danger they were facing.

"What am I going to do?" he asked himself "Everything is a mess, I've lost track of it all"

Would have he done things differently? He surely would have, maybe being a little more cautious would have helped.

He used to think he was attentive enough but apparently, he wasn't.

Pete entered the hall of the hotel and the woman at the reception gave him a strange look. He decided to ignore it and just sit in the guest area and wait there for a while.

He didn't know Vegas' number by heart and at that moment he wish he did. Could he ask the receptionist? Would she give it to him? It was quite confidential information and, as much as she knew, they could have had just a one-night stand and he might look like a crazy stalker.

At that moment he didn't care, he was too worried about all the things happening that he was ready to be judged by that person, it's not like he had anything to lose more.

He put pressure on the good arm he had left to get up and he slowly walked towards the reception.

As he approached her, the woman kept on looking at him and Pete couldn't deny he felt uncomfortable. He couldn't say what that gaze meant but it surely wasn't anything pleasant.

"Hi, how can I help you?" she asked with a smile on her face.

"Uhm... is it possible for you to contact a guest that was in last night?"

"I am not sure that's possible"

"It's important, I don't need the number just call him from reception. I promise he won't mind" Pete insisted.

"Let me see what I can do" she started to type as he gave pieces of information about the room they stayed in and the name.

"I'll try to call him but that's all I can do now" she continued saying.

"Thank you"

She typed the number on the phone and called Vegas. The phone rang a few times and when she was about to hang up he picked up.

"Hello? Sorry to bother you, I'm calling from the X Hotel where have you been a guest last night. There is someone who is looking for you and said he was here with you" she explained professionally.

"Let me talk to him" that was all Vegas said to her.

"Sure sir" she took the phone away from her ear, "he said he wants to talk to you" she passed the phone to Pete's hands.

"Vegas? How are you doing?" Pete was glad that the receptionist was helpful.

"I'm okay. You haven't picked up at all, I was getting worried" Vegas' voice was full of concern.

"It's a long story, I'll tell you when we meet. Where are you?"

"I was about to come to the hotel as well, I hoped you were still there," Vegas said, he and Pete seemed to understand each other so well.

"Yeah I'm here, I'll wait for you"

"Sure, I'm coming soon"

"See you in a bit" Pete hung up.
