Light had entered the room, waking Vegas up. The past night had been pleasant, he and Pete enjoyed the warmth of each other.

Vegas was happy to see Pete sleeping peacefully next to him on his bed. It was so homey, it was like Pete was really a part of his life.

He still didn't believe it, he had been very lucky to have Pete, and he would be thankful every day for that.

Pete's hair was scattered over his face and Vegas found him more beautiful than ever, perhaps because every second that passed, for him, Pete was unquestionably more gorgeous.

His features were perfect, his muscles all relaxed, and Pete looked like an angel. Vegas had often wondered how someone like Pete got into the business. He could have gathered information about it and once he was even close to, curiosity was strong, but he wanted Pete to open up to him and tell him of his own free will.

Vegas felt guilty, despite Pete trying to make him change his mind, he knew the bodyguard's injury was his fault. He shouldn't have blown the deal, he was aware of it now, he didn't want to lose Pete in any case at all.

This time it was a wound on the shoulder, next time what could it be?

Vegas wasn't ready to see Pete suffer, he really didn't want it to ever happen again. But with Pete being around now it was not possible that he would come out unscathed. So all Vegas could do was limit the damage.

Until that moment he hadn't cared if their relationship had been exposed but now, looking back on it, maybe he wanted to keep it under wraps more than Pete.

Now with more lucidity, he regretted being so affectionate in public, he shouldn't have done that, he shouldn't have kissed him there.

He knew Korn was his enemy, perhaps too powerful for him, but right now there was nothing he could do about it. He had to talk to Porsche as soon as possible. Before things got worse he wanted to wait a little longer but now things have changed.

Vegas looked at Pete for a long time, almost afraid that if he looked away for a moment he would disappear.

"Mhm good morning" Pete said opening his eyes feeling the gaze fixed on himself.

"Morning. Did you manage to sleep alright? Are you hurting?"

"I'm okay" he lifts his torso off the bed, now seated "Are you working today?" he asked immediately after.

"I am, it shouldn't take too long and I'll be back for lunch, I won't let you starve"

"That's okay, I won't have anything to do though. I can't go out and can't really do anything"

"There are a few books there if you are bored" Vegas pointed with hesitation, he knew it wasn't ideal but that was all he could think of.

"Reading? Really? I could have done that everywhere else..."

"Then what? I can't stay here"

"I wasn't asking that... whatever just leave. I'll deal with it by myself" Pete said hastily.

"Pete... I didn't mean to sound-"

"It's okay, don't worry. Come on, get yourself ready"

"I won't leave till you stop being mad"

"I'm not mad Vegas, I really am not"

"Okay, I'll go and get us some breakfast. Eat a lot, baby"

"Do you fancy anything for lunch?" Vegas asked after he got himself ready and prepared everything he had to bring with him.

"Spicy curry"
