It had been a long time since Steve Rogers and Wanda Maximoff had last seen each other, and they mostly chatted like old times. After the devastating events of the last battle against Thanos, the Avengers were scattered in different directions to heal their wounds, move on with their lives, fix some unfinished business, and readjust as they had done once before. But the friendship between Steve and Wanda was special, and they always found a way to get together every so often.

It was a warm summer day in Brooklyn, and Wanda and Steve had arranged to meet at the coffee shop they used to visit. Steve arrived first and chose a table in the corner, where he could watch people walk by while he waited for his friend. It wasn't long before Wanda appeared in the doorway. She looked more cheerful than last time; maybe she was starting to recover from everything that had happened in her life. Steve stood up to greet her with a warm hug.

"It's been a long time," Steve said sincerely.

They sat down and began to catch up. Wanda told him about her time traveling to different countries, learning about other cultures, and helping people with her skills. Meanwhile, Steve shared with her how he had been involved in projects to help war veterans reintegrate into society.

After a while of conversation, they realized that no one was attending to them. Steve got up to see what was going on; however, he returned crestfallen, and it seemed that they were not going to be attended to.

As soon as he informed Wanda, they left the place. The last time they saw each other, Steve promised her that they were going to have a slice of cake. Somehow they were used to being turned away from some places; they knew that not everywhere they went would be well received after what happened, and they knew that many people were not happy.

With a slight smile, Wanda suggested they look for another coffee shop nearby. Although the last experience was not pleasant, they were both determined to enjoy that longed-for slice of cake. They walked together through the bustling streets of Brooklyn, recalling some funny moments from their past adventures, which filled the atmosphere with a slight sense of nostalgia.

Eventually, they found a small bakery with a cozy and quiet atmosphere. They sat down at a table by the window, and a friendly waiter came over to take their order. Without much thought, Wanda and Steve ordered two slices of chocolate cake.

The waiter returned with the order, and they both looked at each other with anticipation. They had been waiting for this moment for some time, and it looked like they would finally get their wish. They picked up their forks and took the first bite.

However, something was not right. The expressions on their faces changed instantly, and they shared a confused look. The cake didn't taste as delicious as they expected; in fact, it tasted strange and unpleasant. But instead of complaining or brushing it aside, they decided to find a bright side to the situation.

Steve laughed softly and said, Well, at least it's a memorable experience, right?"

"Yes, it certainly is. I think this will be the most unique cake we've ever shared." Wanda nodded with a smile on her lips.

Although the taste of the cake was not as expected, the conversation was pleasant. They both understood that sometimes things don't go as planned, but that didn't mean they should let it ruin the moment.

They finished the cake, trying to continue with positivity. After leaving the bakery, they continued walking around Brooklyn, enjoying the summer breeze.

Maybe the next time they see each other, it will be better.
