Your POV

One year ago today I married my best friend and became Mrs. (Y/F/N) (Y/M/N) Spooner. Ryan and I have been with each other for the past six years. We have stuck together through the hardships we had experienced throughout the years that we were best friends, boyfriend and girlfriend, and husband and wife.

Today we were celebrating by inviting our families over for an afternoon brunch at our two story house on the outskirts of Boston. As I was cutting up fruit for this afternoon's meal I felt a chin rest its way onto my shoulder. "Ryan, I'm never going to get this done if you don't stop distracting me" I whined. The weight lifted off of my shoulder then out of nowhere an arm reached over me and grabbed a piece of pineapple that I had just cut up.

I turned to Ryan to see him munching on the piece of pineapple that he had stolen from the countertop and smirking at me. "Stop taking the fruit Ry!" I complained as he pulled me close to him and planted his lips on top of mine. He deepened the kiss to the point where I could taste the pineapple on his lips. Ryan lifted me up off of the ground at placed me on top of the bar. I ran my fingers underneath his shirt feeling his rock hard abs, pulling at the hem of it.

Before the kiss could get even more heated Ryan pulled back and pecked me on the lips once more and said "(Y/N) our families will be here soon. We better get ready" I groaned as he ran up the stairs to dress in a more appropriate manner. I finished cutting up the fruit and went upstairs to get dressed. As I was walking up the stairs towards the bedroom Ryan and I shared he walked out in a pair of khaki cargo shorts and a purple Ralph Lauren polo short sleeve shirt. He winked at me as I walked into our bedroom.

I dressed in a white tank top along with a purple maxi skirt that matched Ryan's shirt. I walked down the stairs to find both of our families gathered around the dining room table participating in conversations. When everybody had arrived we sat down at the table and said grace before we dug into the food that was laid out on the table in front of us.

Everybody was talking and making jokes at the table until Ryan's mother spoke up and asked us "So Ryan, (Y/N) when can I expect grandchildren?" I choked on my food as Ryan just looked at me with wide eyes. Ryan spoke up for the both of us "We really haven't talked about it yet mom" She nodded as we ate in awkward silence for the rest of the meal.

When we were all finished with brunch we headed outside to the pool where my nieces and nephews began to swim. I sat with my sister and her four month old daughter under the shade of the nearest shade tree watching the children play in the pool. I looked out into the pool to find Ryan with our six year old nephew Carter playing with water guns. I looked on with admiration imagining what it would be like to have kids with Ryan. We had never really spoken about having kids, but days like this made me wonder what it would be like.

I was interrupted out of my train of thought when my sister handed me Cordelia. She went inside to talk to our mother as a bounced Cordelia up and down on my knee. She was a naturally happy baby, so when she looked up at me a glorious smile appeared on her face. Ryan appeared in front of me while I was holding her. I hadn't even noticed him because I was so caught up in the beauty of a baby.

"You look good with a baby" Ryan said looking at me with a sparkle in his eye. I nodded and focused my attention back onto Cordelia. My sister came out of the house a minute later and regretted to inform me that her, Carter, and Cordelia had to get back home. The rest of the family left shortly after and Ryan and I bid our goodbyes to them. When all of them had left I went into the kitchen to clean up the mess that was made.

I heard footsteps come into the kitchen and Ryan spoke up soon after "You've been quiet tonight" I nodded my head as I continued to clean. "I'll be upstairs shortly, I just need to finish cleaning up" I said as Ryan walked up the stairs to our bedroom. When I finished cleaning up I walked upstairs into the bedroom. I opened up our closet and pulled one of Ryan's hockey shirts over my head before crawling into bed with him.

"Ryan" I whispered as he slowly opened his eyes. "What (Y/N)?" he asked in a tired tone. "Do you want to have a baby with me?" I asked nervously. He opened his eyes widely and sat up with his back against the headboard of our bed. "I understand if you don't I just, the way I saw you with Carter today was breathtaking and I totally understand if yo-" I babbled before Ryan cut me off by pressing his finger to my lips. "(Y/N) I know we have never talked about having kids together, but that was just because I didn't want to scare you away. I didn't want for you to think I wanted kids if you didn't. I love you with all my heart (Y/N) and I wouldn't want anybody else to be the mother of my children other than you! If you're willing?" He exclaimed looking down at me. I smiled up at him said "Only if it's with you Ryan" He kissed me on the lips and that is it where it all began.

One year later a beautiful baby girl was placed into my arms with a beaming Ryan at my side. Logan Greer Spooner was born on August 6, 2016 weighting in at 8 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches long. She was beautiful and resembled her father in the simplest ways that could not be described in words.
