Your POV

The summer was coming to an end which meant I would be heading back home to Columbus today from Russia. I spent the summer with my cousins backpacking around the beautiful country and today I would be leaving it.

As I boarded the plane I looked down at my ticket to see that I was in first class thanks to my cousins. I took my seat by the window and zoned out by looking out the window until somebody tapped me on the shoulder.

I looked up to see a man about my age ask me "What seat are you in...?" I looked at my ticket and realized I was supposed to be a seat over. "I'm sorry I'm in 19b not 19a" I said sympathetically. He just grinned and said "No problem, you really shouldn't worry about it. I'm sorry I asked" I quickly got up and took a seat in my correct seat.

"This is going to be a long flight" I mumbled. The man next to me just grinned and said "Oh and by the way I'm Ryan!" I smiled a polite smile and introduced myself by saying "I'm (Y/N)!" As the flight descended into the air Ryan asked "What brings you from Russia to the U.S., Columbus in particular?" I answered his question by saying "I'm a college student in Columbus and my cousins and I decided to backpack through Europe this summer, what about you?" He answered with a sigh saying "I'm trying to decide if I'm going to take a job offer in Russia or in Columbus, both are great prospects but I'm skeptical" I just nodded my head in understanding what he was going through

"Are you really doing what you love? Do you love your job?" I asked. He laughed and said "I love it more than anything in the world" I smiled at him and asked "What about your coworkers? Do you get along with the ones in Columbus or Russia better?" He thought for a minute and said "I feel more at home in Columbus, I don't speak Russian since I'm Canadian so Columbus would be the way to go in that category"

We were silent for a while. It must have been a while because the next thing I know I am awoken by a bump. I jolt awake to see that I had fallen asleep on Ryan's shoulder. I mutter a quick apology and blush a deep red. "The captain says we are experiencing some turbulence so we are going to make a stop an emergency stop in Pittsburgh" Ryan said to me. I nodded and asked "Why didn't you wake me up when I fell asleep on you? You could have just pushed me off" He laughed and said "I would never push a beautiful girl like you off my shoulder"

When we landed and boarded off the plane in Pittsburgh I said to Ryan "My brother lives here, I think I'm just gonna give him a call and have him come chill if that's ok" Ryan responded by saying "Yeah that's fine" Ten minutes after I called my brother he came bounding through the airport yelling "(Y/N) Bennett!" I turned around to find none other than my brother Beau calling my name.

After he hugged me I turned around to introduce him to Ryan when all of a sudden Beau yelled "Ryan freaking Johansen, what's up man?!" They embraced in a hug while I started at them confused. "What's going on?" I questioned. Beau just laughed and said "Ryan was drafted the same yea I was!" I turned to Ryan and asked "Your considering leaving the Jackets for the freaking KHL?" He just turned red and nodded. After talking to Beau for an hour the plane was ready to board back up. I said my goodbyes to my brother and hopped back on the plane.

"Did you know who my brother was?" I asked Ryan suspiciously. He just shook his head and said "I had no idea" I just nodded and said "I think you should stay in the NHL, there's nothing like winning the Stanley Cup and your most definitely not gonna win it in Russia!" I was furious, why would somebody want to play for something other than the cup. After I voiced my opinion on the subject the captain announced we had landed safely in Columbus. I walked off the plane towards the luggage carousel where Ryan caught up with me by saying "If I stay will you go out with me?" I turned to him and smiled saying "I suppose" as he gave me his number and began to text his agent.
