As they entered the venue, Alahna was feeling a bit claustrophobic. These guys were a big deal and if they viewed themselves accordingly then they would realize that they needed a bigger place to perform.
"I'm gonna die!" Alahna decided as Bonnie guided her through the crowd, her fingers intertwined with the other girl's.
Bonnie's cackle was very much muffled by the excited voices of every Nirvana fan they'd accidentally bump. After the first ten excuse me's, Alahna simply gave up. "Dying listening to good music doesn't sound like the worst way to go!"
"I'd rather not go at all, thank you very much!" Alahna replied, feeling her foot slip on something wet that she could only assume was a spilled beverage. She stumbled momentarily but quickly regained her balance as Bonnie giggled. "You know, I'm not sure how I feel about you enjoying this so much!"
"What, seeing Nirvana in concert or you looking like you have no clue what you're doing?!" Bonnie came to a halt, prompting Alahna to do the same thing.
"Fuck off."
Bonnie payed no mind to the insult as she admired their surroundings (even though, in Alahna's humble opinion, there wasn't much to admire). "Can you believe we're here, Alahna?!" She gently nudged her friend. "I mean, look at the stage! It's right there!"
Alahna couldn't argue with that; they were pretty damn close to the stage. So close in fact that Alahna really, really wished that Kurt Cobain didn't get a sudden urge to stage dive halfway through their set. The girl started fidgetting with one of her braids in an attempt to keep herself distracted from the atmosphere that surrounded her: she trusted that once she had the live music to listen to and focus on, she wouldn't feel like the walls were seconds away from closing in on her.
The next half hour of waiting was spent almost in complete silence on Alahna's part as Bonnie happily chewed her ear off, talking about anything she could think of, mostly Nirvana. She kept naming the songs she was most excited to see live (Alahna did not grasp a single title) and the reasons why. Nodding and humming was all it took for her best friend to be satisfied.
The atmosphere changed entirely when the lights turned dim and next thing they knew, the whole venue was pitch black and Alahna felt her heart drop to her ass. The crowd started whooping and screaming. Bonnie screeched in her ear, holding onto her arm for dear life. At first, you couldn't really see the three guys who walked onstage as they were only sillhouettes in the dark. When one of them stepped forward and to the front of the stage, Alahna couldn't help but start shaking a little bit. Kurt Cobain was at least ten feet away from her.
