It's been a two months since your sick day and you and Wally have gotten much closer. You still do silly little things every morning to get him to warm up to you, but now he laughs and welcomes them with open arms and a "Thank you."

You two began to hang out outside of work as-well, most of the time at a restaurant or diner to discuss different work related things. Other times you'd both go out to different places and just chat, like today, where you both walked through a park laughing.

"So you're telling me when you were 14 you asked a girl out, and she laughed at you in front of the whole school!?" You say, holding onto his sleeve while laughing, your stomach hurt as you tried to catch you breathe.

"Ha ha, it's not that funny." He said pushing you off jokingly as he laughed a bit himself.

"It's very funny for your information." You corrected him while he rolled his eyes.

"And what was YOUR love life like huh? Can't be much better than mine." He said, leaning close and squinting as you pushed him away with a groan.

"Ok... maybe not that good..." you say with a smile, it slightly slipping at the end. He cleared his throat at the tone change in your voice.

"How about your nephew. You said he loves Welcome Home?" He asks.

"Adores it more like. Anytime I'm with him he asks about you or the other cast members, he watches every new episode that comes out."

He laughs at this and looks off with a smile. "That's nice. Maybe I should come over to surprise him soon." He offers as you nod.

"His birthdays actually coming up soon, I can clear your schedule for that day!" You say, quickly pulling out a pen from your purse and writing a note on your hand. He chuckled a bit at your antics and watched as people passed by.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and it was just cold enough to wear a coat or jacket. The air felt clear and crisp and you could faintly hear the river running through the park not to far from the trail you two were on.

Couples with their kids walked by and a few kids stopped to say hi to Wally, sometimes even adults who knew him from other movies and shows. Besides that, not many people bothered or even walked around the park.

"How's your mom?" He finally said, breaking the peaceful silence that surrounded you. You sighed and put your pen away slowly.

Ever since your sick day when you opened up about your mom, he always seemed to ask about her. It was sweet to be honest, he worried on days you didn't show up; calling to make sure you were ok or that your mom was fine.

"She hasn't gotten any worse, so that's good. Just kind in an awkward stage of forgetting things." You say, pulling your coat a little closer to your body as the wind blew past you both.

"Well that's good, I'm glad she's at least not getting worse." He said. Silence laid over the both of you like a comforting blanket, the sounds of nature being the only thing filling it's place.

"Speaking of my mom, I might need to head home soon." You say looking at your watch.

"Let me walk you, it's nearby right?"

"Yes, and you don't have too! I know you like to get home fast-"

"Nonsense. I'm walking you home" You laughed as he stuck his head up, crossing his arms like a child.

"Who's stubborn now?" He whispered as you rolled your eyes and pushed him slightly, causing him to lose balance and laugh.

Head out of the park, the two of you walked on the sidewalk to you house. It was a few blocks away so the walk was just long enough to continue the conversation.
