(51) teenage dream // katy perry
this is a pop bible too!! again, i was too young to see how katy's second album dominate pop music but the songs are pop essentials and extremely successful hits.
i think last friday night, california gurls, and firework are on the same level in terms of success. teenage dream and the one that got away are big songs in their own right too.
katy was unstoppable during this era. it was truly a hit after a hit. she became pop's newest queen, although her peers were just as powerful. you know, taylor, beyoncé, lady gaga, and the other biggest names in modern music history.
i do not hold the same sentiments towards the other songs as i do for the one that got away, though. you see, i see mainstream pop songs as okay and catchy enough to be recognized, but nothing beats the emotions of those songs that hit you right in the feels or whatever it is that they do. katy deserved every bit of success of the teenage dream era.
