(52) history: past, present and future, book I // michael jackson
there are so many hidden gems in 'history'. 'stranger in moscow' wasn't that big, but it should have been. 'little susie', even more. i like songs that tell stories. i wish michael made music video for it.
meanwhile, 'they don't care about us' is the social anthem we all love. i like how he explored so many topics in this album. like how 'they don't care about us' is about injustices, 'scream' is for the tabloids, 'earth song' is for environmentalism, 'childhood' is about his youth, and 'little susie' is the type of song that you hear on the soundtrack of a thriller-horror movie.
i think it's obvious that michael was planning a sequel album for it, and he would name it the book II. it's a bummer that we weren't able to hear it, i'm sure it would have been as good and maybe even more iconic.
