" Please don't be worried about me. "
A FEW DAYS LATER...
Celeste was seemingly exhausted. Her expressions and behaviors gave it away very clearly. Her newly boyfriend, Hort, noticed first, then her roommates seemingly caught on afterwards. After the whole studying for Trial By Tales, trying her best to get above a 10, staying up late, and then waking up early was a whole mess. When Celeste woke up the morning from her creaky bed she got used to hearing, she looked worn out. The past few days, she thought food and caffeine could help, but that didn't help, so it made her feel underwhelming.
Her dark circles were visibly horrendous, her eyes were hanging in a sleepy manner, and her shoulders sagging. Celeste didn't feel great that morning, she didn't want to leave her dream either. Her back was bent and she was feeling a huge amount of somnolence, wanting to go back to sleep.
"Wake up, love, we gotta go class." she heard a voice call out. Her neck slowly twisted to the side as she saw the cloudy sky stare right back at the side of her head. "Huh?" she croaked, looking in the air.
"Who're you talking to?" Sophie brushed her straight blonde hair, feeling a bit more brighter than usual. Celeste and Sophie felt the same, feeling weary due to studying all night and all afternoon.
"Uh- I.. don't worry about it." Celeste waved it off before rolling out of her raggedy black covers, her tight grey shirt hanging loose on her long, pitch-black skirt. Sophie had gifted her that skirt after helping her sneak a pail of water from the Good's side. Lucky enough, even if some dirty Ever students fell inside the water, it was clean enough to drink or whatever. ("This skirt looks ugly, hopefully it fits you." Sophie hung it with two fingers.)
Celeste was even starting to hear things. The voice she heard sounded a lot like her lover, Hort. But turns out, she was just hearing silly things that weren't even happening in reality. That wasn't normal, Celeste always thought it was just a thing passed on from her mom but no, it was never passed down from her heritage. And stupid enough, it sounded pretty idiotic that Celeste had thought that.
The door swung open as the coven left the dorm, already dressed up. It was a bit hard to understand since people expected all Nevers to wake up late and all groggy.
Celeste rubbed her eyes with her fingers, cautiously trying not to poke her eyeballs with her black almond nails. "Cel, you really need a makeover." Sophie called out as she put on mascara, crossing her fingers without a mirror or a puddle to look at.
