Praisy and Fukuzawa stood infront of an apartment like building.

"This is our dorm room. Ranpo should be inside." Fukuzawa informed as he unlocked the door and opened it.

"Ahh Fukuzawa-san, you're early today." A male voice greeted from inside. "And I see you brought a guest too. Is she your solution?"

"Solution?" Praisy raised an amused eyebrow, as the black-haired man walked towards them.

"Ignore him." Fukuzawa sighed. "Ranpo, This is Praisy. Praisy, this is Ranpo, the boy I told you about. From this day forward, we three will live together."

And just as if remembering something, Fukuzawa turned to Ranpo. "If you don't mind, I'd like to make a business call first. Ranpo, please show her around."

With that, Fukuzawa walked out of the dorm, into the darkness. Praisy subtly glanced at the disappearing figure of Fukuzawa, but Ranpo's voice brought her attention back to the room.

"Welcome to the house of the great detective, Ranpo Edogawa. Soon I'll be famous in Yokohama and whole Japan." Ranpo boasted. "You should be glad to be sharing the dorm with me."

"A great detective?" Praisy asked, tilting her head.

"If you'd indulge me, I'll show you what I'm talking about." Ranpo's closed eyes slightly opened revealing jade eyes.

"Go ahead." Praisy smirked and Ranpo took out his glasses and wore them.

"You are aware that you are gifted." Ranpo started and Praisy's smirk widened. "And you are using your ability to spy on Fukuzawa-san right now, correct?"

"Impressive!" Praisy clapped her hands, genuinely impressed. No one has ever been to tell whether or not she was using her ability before, yet Ranpo seemed to figure it out like a piece of cake.

Ranpo stood there proudly, with an expression that screamed, 'come on, praise me more.'

"I'd like to try the same, if you'd indulge me." Praisy spoke and this time Ranpo smirked.

"Alright. But I'll choose the question." Ranpo said removing the glasses.

"I don't mind." Praisy shrugged, confidence radiating off of her.

"If you answer the question correctly, we'll be Detective buddies till the day we die." Ranpo continued and Praisy nodded, chuckling.

"So here's the question." Ranpo took a deep breath. "Fukuzawa-san must've told you that he picked you up because that's the right thing to do. But do you know exactly why you were brought here?"

"Yes." Praisy crossed her arms with a smirk. "Like you said, Fukuzawa-san only told me that he picked me up because it was the right thing to do. I don't think he was lying to me, however that wasn't his main reason. The real reason is... Fukuzawa-san do not wish to lose to his rival. Ain't that right?"

Ranpo's eyes widened as he grinned. "How did you figure that out?"

Praisy grinned. "The same way you did."

"̶E̶v̶e̶r̶y̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶c̶l̶e̶a̶r̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶a̶y̶!̶"̶ Praisy and Ranpo said simultaneously.

"And that cat, he's Fukuzawa-san's ally in this, isn't he?" Praisy asked.

With a laugh, Ranpo rushed at her hugged her tightly. "I knew we'd get along pretty well..." Praisy hugged back and laughed. (I'd never miss the chance to hug Ranpo!)

"When Fukuzawa returned from his 'business call', he found Ranpo and Praisy hugging each other and laughing.

"Ah, you're back." Ranpo grinned as he let go.

"It's good to see you getting along pretty well..." Fukuzawa nodded and turned to Praisy. "Praisy, would you like to join our agency? I'm sure it'll be-"

"She would love to join us." Ranpo cut off Fukuzawa and Praisy nodded. "Yes, I would love to join."

Fukuzawa blinked and nodded. "That's great. The arrangements shall be done tomorrow."

"Ne Fukuzawa-san..." Praisy called. "Thank you for taking me in."

Fukuzawa stared at her for a few moments, then cleared his throat and walked towards the kitchen.

Praisy and Ranpo sweatdropped.

"Err... please excuse him. He still have to learn how to respond to gratitudes and compliments." Ranpo chuckled.

"Yeah, I can see that." Praisy snorted.

"Come and sit. The dinner will be ready soon." Fukuzawa called from inside.

"Coming~" Ranpo sang as he dragged Praisy inside.

The dinner was delicious. Although Praisy noticed the light stains on Fukuzawa's fingertips and deduced that he cooked when they first met, she hadn't anticipated that his cooking would be this delicious.

Ranpo and Praisy continued to shower Fukuzawa with compliments, whose stoic facade was starting to break revealing the slight blush.

And night came and the three laid down on their futons and slept.

Except Praisy, whose eyes snapped open in the midnight.

She looked to the side and saw the ghost she appointed to spy on Fukuzawa, sitting beside her.

"So, what'll happen tomorrow?" She asked the ghost in a hushed voice.

"It would appear that you'd have to go through an entrance test tomorrow, conducted by two detectives named Doppo Kunikida and Dazai Osamu. I went to investigate them. Doppo Kunikida seemed like a perfectionist, as he does everything according to his schedule. The other man Dazai was not at his dorm, rather he was drowning in a river when I finally found him, which is why I am late reporting back to you." The ghost said.

Praisy blinked. It would appear that inorder to pass the exam, she would have to work with this... contrasting duo.

"Did you happen to find out what kind of entrance exam they'll be conducting?" Praisy asked.

"I'm afraid I haven't. Fukuzawa said that he, Kunikida and Dazai would decide what test they would choose at his office in the morning."

Praisy nodded. "You did well. Thank you."

Praisy laid back on her futon with a sigh.

What kind of test awaits her the next day? Will she be able to work with the duo and pass the test? You'll find out in the next chapter!

To be continued...
