We were meant to be , just maybe not forever;
You loved roses but hated red, it only meant blood to you;
Ergo, the colour of our love was blue, forbidden but still true;
Lost in the wrong dimensions, we were soulmates;
Fighting against time, the only villain of our tale;
Now, the petals of those blue roses you gave;
Have withered away, maybe to reach you;
They say you are not here, never were;
But the witness of our epic tale, the moon is still there;
We may have lost the fight against time, but won in love.

Context: This poetry is about a story of time travel, two lovers seperated by different eras. Blue roses represent longing and desires for an unpossible thing.
Inspired by one of my favourite books I read here🦋
