little sketch I did of baby Riely finally catching Tsu'teys tail lol.

Slanted is na'vi

(for the sake of not confusing my readers Riely now has no memory of her past life on earth. She now has the full mindset of a baby/toddler. She does however recognise the English language, she just can't really understand it.)

Third person POV.

Half a year later, one night a new star appeared in the night sky and as the night progressed it got bigger and bigger. Many were fearful not knowing what it meant, yet the Tshahik assured them that they would be protected. As the "star" crashed it burned up a part of the forest making the Na'vi cry and scream at the sight. When the flames and the dust settled the "star" was revealed to not be a star at all but some sort of contraption.

Mo'at and Eytukan travel towards the contraption that night. As they got closer they came to discover that this, thing is bigger than they had anticipated. They stopped at the edge of the burnt part of the forest and watched in fear and curiosity as the contraption made a hissing sound and opened up. Something emerged from it and they observed this creature with interest. It had this thing on its face that made a weird sound whenever it breathed and it also wore clothing unlike anything they have ever seen before. What really worried and scared them though, was the great resemblance in structure and body that this being had to their youngest daughter. They gave each other a worried glance then raced back home.

"Three weeks later"

Three pairs of feet make their way through the forest, one pair quite smaller than the other. No, wait! A tiny little toddler runs behind her two older sisters as they run ahead of her. Little Riely struggles to keep up with her sisters who are quite taller than herself. Hurry up Riely! The oldest sister Slywanin shouts looking behind her. Come on, we have to get home before eclipse! The other sister Neytiri shouts while running ahead. While Slywanin and Neytiri are seven and five years of age little Riely is only a year and half. This means that she is slower than her sister especially since she is smaller than they are. The three sisters continue to run the two older ones not noticing that their sister has fallen behind by quite a bit.

The two older girls continue running home yipping and hollering. What they didn't notice is that their fragile baby sister has stopped running behind them, having stopped to play with a nearby plant that caught her eye. As Riely gets up after she's done playing with the plant, she notices that her big sisters are nowhere in sight. She starts to whimper not knowing her way home and starts running in a random direction hoping that it's the way home. She continues running as it gets darker not knowing that the direction that she chose to run in was in fact not the way home but towards something else something, that was similar to herself.

Riely's pov

I run and I run, running is all I can do right now, but soon I have to stop running to catch my breath. As I do that, I take a look at my surroundings. The plants of my home glow in the dark so it eases my fears slightly, another thing that eases them is that the eclipse only lasts a couple of hours. So, knowing these things I continue on my way hoping to get home or at least run into someone familiar. The more the eclipse goes on the darker it gets even with the plants here lighting my way. I walk for about an hour and a half when I hear voices, voices I don't recognize at all. I crawl in the bushes towards them stopping when I manage to see these, people. The thing is these people look like me, but mom and dad told me that I was the only thing like me and that is what made me special in the eyes of the great mother. I continue to watch them, noticing that they are both men, one young and bald, the other older with gray hair. They're talking but I can barely understand them.

I can pick up a few words that they say but I don't know how. I creep closer but I don't notice a stick in my path. Crack! Oh no. They look in the direction of the bush I am hiding in and I start to cry fearing for my life. Well, what do we have here? the older man says as they step into my hiding spot. They both look at me with curious and cautious eyes. How did a kid get here and where is her mask? The bald one shouts alarmed. The older man reaches down and picks me up as the darkness of the eclipse fades away. No no no no! I scream as I'm lifted into the man's arms.

Third person pov.

Mama, I want mama! Riely cries as she is held to Quaritch's chest. Now don't cry little debbie it makes my knees hurt. Quaritch says as he holds the squirming crying child a little tighter. Lyle Wainfleet comes up next to him wondering just how in the hell this kid is breathing and not dead. Hey, give her here you obviously don't know how to handle kids. Lyle says as he takes the child from his colonel's arms. And you do? Quaritch retorts. I had a five year old niece who was famous in my family for throwing tantrums left and right before I was shipped here. I think I know a thing or two on how to calm a kid down. Lyle is quick to snap back.

Hey tiny, shh shh yeah it's ok no need for tears. Lyle coos to the baby in his arms. Did the big bad colonel scare you? Yeah he did, didn't he. Didn't he? Riely's crying slowly turned to hiccups as the man continued to make funny faces and coo to her, and soon enough the hiccups turned to giggles. There see, all better. lyle says, he then turns to Quaritch. Now onto the important stuff just how in the heck is the kid breathing? Lyle asks him. No clue. Quaritch answers. And heck? Really? He sasses his corporal. Well yeah don't want this little sunshine picking up no swear words and making a couple of parents angry now do we? Lyle says and he continues to bounce the little giggling girl around.

While the two men continued to argue back and forth they soon became unaware of their surroundings, and what they didn't know is that right behind them a very angry father stands. His bow drawn back aimed at the men holding his daughter. Wait a minute. Quaritch says. You hear that. He asks lyle. No, I don't hear anything. The man responds. Exactly, It just got way too quiet. Quaritch says as he looks around. He stares at something for a minute. Get down! He shouts pushing lyle and the baby he's holding to the ground just as a giant arrow flies right by their heads.

As this happens Riely starts crying and screaming again. The two men immediately rush to their feet ready to book it as soon as they are on their feet when out of nowhere a large na'vi male jumps down in front of them. Give me back my daughter, demons! He hisses at them knocking another arrow on his bow. The two human men not knowing what he's saying but knowing he is a threat to them, run. With lyle still holding the baby in his arms.
