Chapter 17

Riely POV

As we made our way back home I could just feel the anger radiation off of Tsu'tey. Are you mad at me? I ask him hesitantly. Yes I am mad, but not at you. He says as one of his hands goes around me in an attempt to comfort me. We approach Hometree after a while and Tsu'tey gets off the Pa'li and holds me in his arms as we lead the rest of the group along with Mr. Idiot into the base of hometree. Tsu'tey changes course and brings me to my mother so I can explain what has happened to her and get healed up a bit while Neytiri deals with our father. Tsu'tey leaves after dropping me off with mom and I start to explain everything to her. We get into the healers hut and mom is in there organizing some herbs. What happened? She asks as soon as she sees the makeshift bandages around my leg. I Jumped off a cliff into the river. I say as Tsu'tey goes to open his mouth. And why would you do that? Mom asks suspiciously as Tsu'tey sets me down carefully in front of her so she can see the damage. Me and the dreamwalker that we have brought to the village were being chased by Smokey. Because the Dreamwalker pissed her off. I explain to her. She gives me a look and then motions for Tsu'tey to leave which he does with a grumble.

Mom feels around my ankle and lower leg for any breaks before putting a paste to help with the pain. Count yourself lucky that nothing was broken. You foolish child. She says as she wraps a new bandage around my leg. I know I know, I was stupid but if I didn't intervene then that man wouldn't be alive right now. I say as I look up at her. She smiles at me and places her hand against the side of my head, her thumb rubbing my temple. You have a kind heart my dearest daughter. Sometimes I feel like your kindness will get you killed. She says and her hand drops back down by her side. Now stay here and rest for a bit and I will go and look at the alien you and your sister have brought into our home. She says as she stands up and excites the hut. I can hear mother shout at the people to give her room to but after that i drown everything out so that I can take a small nap. I wake up to a hand shaking my shoulder, grumbling I open my eyes and look up to see Tsu'tey is the one to wake me. Come my love it is time for evening meal. He says softly.

It has really been that long? I ask him as he carries me up the spiral stairs of hometree. Yes, you were weak and tired. You needed the rest. He tells me seriously. Soon we are seated next to my mother and father as we eat the community meal together. Mother, did we ever get the name of the dreamwalker male? I ask her curiously as i place some Taylu in my mouth. Yes he said his name was JakeSulli. She says as dad adds on to her explanation. He also said that he is a warrior of a human clan called the Jarheads. It is a curious thing that there just now happens to be Warrior dreamwalkers. He says and I hear Tsu'tey scoff beside me. You should have let me kill him. He says and I hiss at him and softly smack his thigh. He looks at me slightly offended before eating his meal.

We eat in peace for a few minutes before Neytiri and Jake enter for dinner. Jake looked around a bit awkwardly stating that no one should stand up. He follows Neytiri over to us and ends up stepping on a clan member's tail. He sits down and a little girl tries to get closer to him before being pulled back by her parents. Soon my sister hands him a leaf wrap filled with Taylu and he starts to eat it. I notice he looks over to me and waves his hand at me in greeting. Tsu'tey glares at him and wraps his tail around my waist. Instigating the silent threat that I am off limits to the dreamwalker. I giggle at the interaction between the two males before tuning in to the conversation Jake is starting with Neytiri. He asks her for her name and mine, failing altho hilarious but all the same miserably to pronounce our full names. He then asks what the meal he is eating is called and his reaction when he finds out it's a kind of beetle larva is hilarious. It's like my grandma's Taylu. He says and I giggle at him. Soon it comes time for us to retire for the night. Me and Tsu'tey make it back to our Kelku and we lay down with him wrapping his body around mine. You promised you would be careful today. He suddenly says. I know I did my love but I couldn't just let him die. My conscience would not allow it. I tell him as I snuggle into his chest. You are too kind sometimes you know that my love? He asks and I can hear the smile in his voice as he nuzzles the top of my head. So I've been told. I say with a smile. Soon all the exhaustion of today takes hold and I fall into a deep sleep. 

3rd pov.

Jake wakes up to the sound of distant voices and blurry figures. The voices get louder and the figures start to become clear. Jake? Come back to us Jake. A female voice says. The face of the woman clears and Jake can see that it's Grace that is calling out to him. You were dug in like a tick. She says as she helps him get up. Are you ok, is the avatar safe? She asks urgently. Yeah and you'll never guess where I am. Jake says as a smile creeps up his face. Jake tells them that he was taken to hometree by the Na'vi natives and that they want to study him. I got a question to ask you though Grace. Jake says as he wheels alongside her in his wheelchair. And what would that be Marine? She questions him as she turns her head to face him. Who is Riely? He asks her and she pauses mid step and turns to face him white as a sheet. How do you know that name? She asks him a bit angrily. I met her. Jake says as if it were the most normal thing ever. She saved my life from the thanator and I saved her from the pack of viperwolves that tried to kill us before Neytiri found us. He tells her with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

She's alive? How she was said to be killed when the idiots in charge shot up my school. Grace exclaims as she brings her hands up to her head to run her fingers through her hair in frustration. Well I can tell you right now that she's alive and well but I didn't get to talk to her all that much because she was practically being guarded all night by this one dude that glared at me the entire night. Jake explains as his hands flail around in frustration as he talks. Riely was here before the humans even came to the planet. We don't know where she came from or why she looks human and not Na'vi. We do know this though she is one hundred percent Na'vi. Even her DNA reads as Na'vi. Grace explains her voice nearing a whisper near the end. Jake looks at her his gaze shows mixed emotions of confusion and curiosity. He lets out a hum and they both continue on to the Dining hall for dinner.
