Chapter 20

Riely pov.

"Slanted is Na'vi"

Waking up next to my husband every morning for the past week has felt almost like a dream. A dream I never want to wake up from, we have spent every moment we can together and the time when we are apart feels like forever. Jake has joked about us being in something called a honeymoon state, whatever that is. Speaking of the dreamwalker he has finally made his first kill, completed his right of passage and now has his own Ikran which he has for some reason named....Bob. It is a ridiculous name in my opinion but his Ikran must not mind the name as it responds to it well.

There is still one thing left for Jake to do to fully become one of the people, the dream hunt. To complete his journey into adulthood as a member of our clan he must allow himself to be stung by a very poisonous arachnoid and then he has to swallow a glow worm. He will then pass out among the roots of home tree and if allowed by Eywa he will see visions of his spirit animal and maybe some glimpses of his future with the clan. If Eywa deems he is not strong enough he will succumb to the poison and die.

I still remember my dream hunt clear as day. Mother was scared I wouldn't be able to survive it with how young I was, but father managed to convince her that if I was strong enough to tame my ikran I could complete the dream hunt. I can still to this day feel the painful sting of the arachnoid and horrible feeling of the live glow worm as it traveled down my throat.

"Ma Riely, Where are you!" I could hear the voice of my husband snapping me out of my memories. I maneuver my body on the branch I am sitting on to look down at him as he comes walking. Before he passes under the branch I am I hook my knees onto the branch and flip upside down in front of him. He flinches back slightly to avoid running into before he smiles softly and cups my cheek bringing me into a kiss. He pulls away after a brief moment allowing me to fully jump off the branch landing at his side.

"Yes my love?" I question him knowing that he was more than likely sent out to find me for one thing or another. It seems that since we have mated there has been more and more work to do leaving us with little time to relax. He as always could always read me well and states "I only came to find out where you ran off to my little love. We are not needed for any work yet."

That is good I could use some time to relax before Jake's dream hunt preparations begin. "But I do have exciting news," I turn up to him, curious as to what this news is. "The teacher has been allowed back home." Those words are all I needed to hear to have me bolting back home. Grace has been allowed back! This is amazing, I couldn't wait to see her again and hug her and tell her all that has happened in the time since her exile. I could here Tsu'tey laughing as he gives chase, shouting for me to slow down.

That wouldn't be happening this time though. If it was for anything else maybe but not this time. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, never stopping. When I reached home tree I searched for my aunt among the crowd, spotting her in her dreamwalker body among a group of children crouched down to their level talking to them. "Grace!" I exclaim in excitement as I run towards her. She turns around, her ears alert and her eyes searching for me. She manages to spot me and just as the smile on her face grows I tackle her in a hug knocking her down to the ground.

Her joyous laughter is music to my ears and her arms are like a warm blanket as she wraps them around my body. I pull back a bit to look up at her, when I do I can see the tears falling from her eyes. "No, you are not allowed to cry for if you cry I will cry so no tears!" I say in jest this causes her to shake her head as more laughter erupts from her lips. "You little brat for years I thought you were dead! And now I'm finally allowed to see for myself that you're not so I think I am allowed to cry." She hugs me close to her body once more squeezing me tight. "I missed you kiddo." She whispers into my ears as one of her hands come up to stroke my hair lovingly.

"I missed you too Aunty." I say squeezing her back just as strongly. I allow tears of my own to fall down my face in joy of being able to see her.

(I LIVE!! I am so sorry for being gone for so long, things in my life got a little stressful to say the least but im ok now! Im safe and my family is safe so im just gonna leave it at that. I hope you enjoy this chapter and i hope to get more out next week.)
