Max and Adeline were currently hanging out in Adeline's room. Max was sitting on Adeline's bed reading a comic book while Adeline was trying to find an outfit from her closet.
Her, Max, Will, Lucas, and Mike were all planning on meeting up at the movies tonight to watch the sneak preview of Day of the Dead.
"Okay," Adeline said, picking out two t-shirts and turning to show Max. "Abba or Queen?"
"Um, Abba of course," Max responded as if it was obvious. Adeline laughed before going into the bathroom to change into the t-shirt and jean shorts. She, of course, also wore her dad's shark tooth necklace. She had worn it every day since her father's death.
She came back out of the bathroom and grabbed a pair of white Converse. She tied her shoes as Max slipped on her red Vans as well before they went downstairs.
"Mom!" Adeline called as they walked downstairs. "Max and I are leaving."
"Alright, have fun!" Her mom said as she smiled at the two. The girls left the house hand-in-hand as they got on their bikes and left for the new Starcourt mall.
When they got there, they locked their bikes in the bike rack and met up with the boys. Well, minus Mike.
"Where's Mike?" Adeline asks Lucas.
"Probably with El," Will answers. Adeline sighs as she leans against the bike rack to wait for him.
Almost ten minutes of waiting and the group began to get impatient.
"Where the hell is he?" Adeline questioned, checking her watch. "The movie is gonna start soon."
As if on cue, Mike pulls up to the bike rack and locks his bike.
"You're late," Lucas informs him. "Again!"
"We're gonna miss the opening," Adeline continues to complain.
"Yeah, if you keep whining about it," Mike snaps back. "Let's go."
"'If you guys keep whining about it. Nyeh-nyeh-nyeh,'" Lucas mocks Mike. Adeline laughs at Lucas and they walk into the mall.
"Just please stop talking dude," Mike says, pushing Lucas' shoulder.
"Let me guess," Lucas starts again. "You were busy." He makes obnoxious kissing noises towards Mike.
"Oh yeah, real mature, Lucas," Mike says sarcastically. Will and Adeline are laughing behind them.
"'Oh, El, I wish we could make out forever, and never hang out with any of our friends,'" Lucas mocks again. Will and Adeline start laughing a little harder. Max only shakes her head at her girlfriend's immaturity.
"Lucas, stop," Max tells him.
"Will and Addy think it's funny," Lucas defends.
"Because it is," Adeline answers with a smile. Max smiles and rolls her eyes as they continue walking through the mall.
"Yeah, it's so funny that I want to spend romantic time with my girlfriend," Mike states sarcastically.
"I'm spending romantic time with my girlfriend," Adeline tells him with a smug smile, wrapping an arm around Max's shoulders. Max laughs as she leans closer into Adeline before pulling away as they weave through the crowd.
"Excuse us!" Mike says as they bump past people going down the escalator. "Sorry!"
People yell at them as they swerve past, but the group pays them no mind.
After they got down the escalator, Mike accidentally bumped into a girl.
"Ow! Watch it!" She yells that him.
