Adeline meets up with Lucas at the arcade, heading for the back.
She leans up against the counter to talk to Keith.
"Hey, uh, can I get in the back?" She asks Keith.
"What's your name?" He asks skeptically.
Adeline rolls her eyes. "C'mon, Keith, you know me! Adeline!?"
Keith nods his head and lifts the counter to let Adeline through. She enters the 'Employees Only' door to see Lucas at one of the games.
"Hey, Addy," he greets.
"Hey," Adeline says back, avoiding his gaze.
"Look, I'm sorry--" Lucas gets cut off.
"I'm only doing this because Max needs to know what's going on," she tells him sharply. "Not because I forgave you or any of you guys."
"Addy, I'm on your side," Lucas tells her. "Trust me, I want the same thing as you."
"Don't test me, Lucas," she snaps.
Lucas raises his hands defensively and turns back to his game.
Adeline sighs and slouches in a chair as she waited for Max.
Around thirty minutes passed before the door opened to reveal Max. She made eye contact with Lucas first, giving him an annoyed look before looking over to Adeline, slightly confused.
"You better get me that date now, Sinclair," Keith tells the boy.
"I told you I would," Lucas tells him. Adeline and Max share a confused look before turning back to Lucas and Keith.
"And keep things PG in here, alright?" Keith adds.
"Ew, Keith," Adeline tells him with a disgusted face. "Unnecessary."
Keith glares at her before shutting the door.
"What is this shit, Stalker?" Max asks Lucas angrily. "And why did you drag Addy here?"
"I chose to be here, actually," Adeline says quietly. Max sends her a quick glare, making Adeline slouch back into her chair.
"Sorry, we just needed a sade place," Lucas tells the redhead.
"A safe place to what? Be creepy?" She asks him. Adeline speaks up, grabbing Max's attention.
"Listen, we're gonna tell you the truth about everything that happened last year," Adeline tells her.
"But if anyone finds out, you could be arrested," Lucas tells her.
"Lucas, seriously? That's not very likely to happen," Adeline tells him.
Lucas sighs. "Possibly even killed."
"Okay, that could happen," Adeline mumbles. Max looks over to Adeline.
"Are you fucking with me or something?" She asks in a sharp tone.
"Wh- no! Max, I wouldn't," Adeline tells her. "I swear."
"Yeah, whatever," Max sighs.
Adeline huffs. Usually Max isn't this angry with her, and it kind of made Adeline feel guilty.
"We need to know," Lucas starts. "Do you accept the risk?"
"Oh my God, this is so stupid," Max laughs sarcastically.
"Do you accept the risk?" Lucas repeats, this time more stern.
Max thinks for a second before nodding her head. "Yeah, fine," she tells him. "'I accept the risk.'" Max sits down in a chair as Lucas and Adeline sigh. "Let's hear it," Max tells them after a minute of silence.
