He laid there in his clothes wandering about her, what her room was like and how sleeping beside her would feel. She was easy to talk to. She wasn't rude or nasty. She was so sweet.

He had met her on two different occasions now but he was certain more than ever that he did find himself attracted to her. For the first time in years he found himself wanting to know more, wanting to comfort , wanting to hold.

The night soon turned to day, Meredith turned around, the light that peaked through her curtains stinging  her eyes as they slowly opened, turning around she felt her arm wrap around what she could onyl describe as a soft lump.

Fully opening her eyes she realised it was the beautiful dog she had met the evening before, she pieced it together and assumed they were to drunk to go home that evening, she lightly laughed and pulled herself up.

As she did every morning she checked the weather forecast, rain and wind, again. Having seen the forecast she pulled out a pair of thick black leggings and a grey solid rib knit v neck jumper.

She showered as usual, soaking her hair in her lavender shampoo.  She dried her hair and lightly curled it, applied mascara and a light layer of concealer before dressing herself. Days of comfort were her favourite. She sprayed her usual floral perfume.

"Hey I need to make the bed"Meredith called at Ruby. The dog simply jumped down and walked to Meredith's side. "You are a good girl" she praised. Making the bed was one thing Meredith enjoyed about house chores. It meant it was cosy for the evening.

Stepping from her room the light smell of coffee filled her nostrils, she walked down the hall the dog she barely knew hot on her heels.

She opened the door and was met by happy Addie, hungover Mark and Amelia and then him. His eyes met hers and like their first meeting they locked. Meredith smiled slightly and looked to the floor.

"Morning"She called. Addison smiled to her friend.

"Hey girl, they were all pissed so i said they could stay"Addison looked nervous.

"Its all good. I had this one keeping me company. The bed was actually warm for once"Meredith laughed petting the animal. She noticed Derek didn't have a drink. "I am guessing you prefer fruit and smoothie"Meredith asked Derek. He chuckled with a nod. "I will make you one"She squeezed past Addison and grabbed two bowls and two glasses. She moved around quickly.

"You off today"Addison asked Meredith who was cutting pineapple chunks.

"Ya, I only need to add a few final details"Meredith added a mixture of fruits to her blender.

"So you are one of those healthy people"Amelia asked with a frown. Meredith nodded.

"I am, although I do love pizza and steak"She shrugged.

"I thought you were going out today"Addison frowned. Meredith nodded then shrugged.

"Mother has a big day at work and dad said he is too busy. So my day is lazy. I need to find Tink"She used the nickname for her orange ball of fur.

"My bed. I fed her already"Addison smiled warmly "I feel nervous. Going to the house today" Addison shook

"I will be by your side the entire time Addie. I won't let you deal with this alone."Meredith embraced her lightly.

"You are amazing. I couldn't live without this girl"Meredith shook her head at Addison as she handed Derek a bowl of fruit and a smoothie.

Derek had never met anyway who shared the same health interests as he did. Nevermind having anyone prepare him something.
