Lysithea was watching all the events in that little forest. She watched the couple furtively reunite, only to see a terrifying side of Leonard. The guy he faced got up and ran off, brushing past the boy. Leonard stood there for a while, looking up at the sky. When he came to, he looked in her direction.
"Lysithea, You can go out now," Leonard walked closer to the girl's hiding place.
"But how...?" Lysithea couldn't believe that guy's ability to spot some sneaky enemy.
"It doesn't matter how or why I knew you were here," He moved closer until they were face to face. "I assume you saw various things, including our meeting with Marianne."
"Er... Yes. I swear I won't say anything."
"I would appreciate it," Leonard gave the girl a slight bow." "Both scenes would make Marianne feel bad, especially the last one."
"I imagine..." Lysithea felt something strange in her chest. "I feel like that guy had also followed me before."
"It is probable. He said he knew about Crests."
"Yes... There are several scholars on the matter," Lysithea looked at Leonard with concern. "I know Marianne has been hiding her Crest for the same reason. In my case..."
"You must have had a Crest implanted in you, right?"
"Yes..." —Lysithea didn't even pretend to hide that fact. "The truth is that I carry two Crests. A few years ago, some evil people sent by the Empire did all kinds of things to me to achieve that purpose. There was nothing my family could do to stop it."
"How terrible..." Without much thought, Leonard stroked the girl's head. "Excuse me for that gesture... It seemed to me that your look expressed a lot of suffering."
"Don't do it again... You make me feel like a child" Lysithea looked at the boy with an expression of somewhat false anger.
"I don't know why you think I would see you as a little girl or anything," Leonard tried to shake his head and hands to reinforce his words. "You are a teenager, after all."
"Oh, but what a difference..."
"I don't know what you're looking for, wanting to appear older. You have plenty of time for this," the boy crossed his arms as he said. "Or maybe you don't have..."
"That's right; I don't have much time!" Lysithea's face turned red, and a couple of tears appeared.
"Does it have to do with what they did to you?"
"That's right," the girl's angry attitude had softened, but her anger still existed. "When they finished their damn rite, those guys told me my life expectancy would greatly reduce."
Leonard kept his head down as he rubbed it. It stayed like that for a while. Lysithea was ready to leave but noticed the boy was looking at her again.
"If we come across any of those who made you suffer like this, please tell me," Leonard placed a hand on the girl's right shoulder staring at her. "I don't know if revenge will work, but believe me, I'll do everything possible so that they tell you how to remove that Crest and that they offer you an apology."
"I didn't ask you that, silly," Lysithea looked down, blushing. "As if that was going to solve something in my life. I better go. See you later."
"Okay...bye."
Lysithea quickly got lost in the woods. She decided to wait a while before going out and meeting everyone. Leonard quickly returned to meet his beloved. He saw that Marianne was impatient. She constantly arranged her hair while it seemed she was biting the nail of one of her hands.
