Everyone watched the scene horrified. Hilda, who had seen the boy's regenerative ability, guessed it would not be easy or fast to recover from such an attack. His capture was inevitable. Before she could mobilize on his wyvern, she heard a chilling scream, followed by an explosion of lightning that formed a shock wave. She looked toward the cry and found Marianne, who had lost control of the situation.
The light blue-haired girl had lost consciousness. When she recovered it, she opened her eyes to see how the person she loved was pierced by an enormous weapon that would surely take his life.
The feeling of emptiness and despair was immediate. She didn't care about anything other than destroying everything that threatened whom she wanted. She no longer cared that she was a monster if she could kill that old bastard with it. "No...Leonard; No. Please don't leave me again. If you have to consume me, Crest of the beast, let it be now," Marianne said to the beast who resided inside her and begged to consume her.
Her eyes turned red, and the veins in her neck looked like they would explode. Her forearms and hands became thicker as dark green plates or scales surrounded them. The next thing Hilda saw from the air was how Marianne pounced on her enemy at an impressive speed. Periander didn't take much importance to the enemy and threw some summoned weapons at her. Not only did she dodge them flawlessly and blasted many others with her lightning and ice magic.
That girl was dangerous. The older man noticed how the projection of a Crest appeared behind her. "It is the Crest of Maurice. Poor creature, there is no turning back for her now," he thought as he saw how the girl was already on top of him. He tried to dodge their attacks, which became more difficult.
As Marianne lost control, the battle of attrition against Dimitri and his forces did not stop. Fortunately, the fatigue and the decrease in his troops allowed the rest of the army to attack to take him.
Ferdinand pounced on his horse at Dimitri. It would be distracting. In turn, Hubert used his last strength to summon Banshee and Miasma spells to destabilize The Boar Prince. Edelgard pounced on him. In a mighty lunge, she made his enemy drop his weapon. Immediately afterward, Dimitri could feel Petra's sword near his neck as she had taken his spear. There was no more to do. He had been defeated.
"You don't move anything," Petra said, panting a little.
"Hubert, Now!" Edelgard exclaimed.
Immediately, the wizard used his teleportation magic on Dimitri, leaving him inside one of the wyvern cages Hilda and Claude had brought. Finally, the warriors of the empire were able to contain Dimitri. Naturally, his companions surrendered, even though Felix wanted to put up resistance.
"I hope they accept our surrender and trust that our only purpose was to accompany our friend," said Mercedes as she knelt and offered an anguished expression to her former companions.
"We don't need your apologies," Edelgard replied, shaken. "It would not hurt if you joined us to defeat the terrible enemy that has attacked us. The other conflicts can wait," The Empress looked back at the group. "Of course, this is all over at the slightest sign of betrayal."
On the other side of the battlefield, Marianne continued to lash out at her enemy. After a series of attacks and escapes via teleportation by Periander, it seemed to him that the battle seemed more like a game of catch, and he would be the one caught if he didn't do something. He strengthened his attacks, but Marianne repelled them with her spells and now with her veined hands and long, claw-like nails.
In a careless moment, Marianne cut off one of her enemy's arms, sending it flying. He jumped back and stopped. He picked it up and stuck it around to where it was going. He released it without it falling. He had already recovered. Or so the warriors thought. The old man had expended too much energy. It was time to retire.
