A couple of days had passed and Cy was released from the hospital and as he got in the car he started talking about all that he's thought about. "I'm not quitting but I'm not staying working under him either," Cy said as he finished his rant. "What are you going to do then?" Alice asked. "Bennett taught me how to make a car crash look like an accident," Cy said as Alice drove them home, "all I need to do is have you go in and distract him while I tamper with the car". "Okay, I'm in, I love you" Alice said. "I love you too, Cy replied as they continued towards the apartment.
The next morning Cy and Anna woke up. "Take your car, it'll create a gap and allow me to get to Bennett's car, as a cover for why we're not together, I'm checking on my prescription" Cy said "if today goes wrong tell them you didn't know, this was all just a suprise to you, promise me". "What do you mean?" Alice asked. "Just promise me," Cy repeated. "I promise," Alice said as they got out of bed then got ready to go see Bennett. Alice left first and Cy sat waiting a while before driving to work.
"Miss Johnson it's good to see you, how's your boyfriend?" Bennett asked Alice as she walked into his office. "Good, he'll be coming in a few minutes, he had to stop and check on his prescription" Alice said as she sat down and chatted with Bennett for a few minutes until Cy came in. "Mister Jackson it's good to see you, how are you feeling?" Bennett said as Cy came into Bennett's office. The three chatted before Bennett gave them a package and an address and told them they had to deliver it.
A few hours had passed and Cy and Alice finished their delivery then drove back to Bennett's office. Upon arriving at the office they went into Bennett's office then got a call saying for both of them to walk outside and get in the limousine. Cy and Alice walked out and got in the limousine with pitch-black windows. "Mister Jackson, good to see you, how are you feeling?" A voice said to Cy. "I'm good sir," Cy responded. "Miss Johnson how are you?" the man said. With Alice responding she's fine. "Good to hear, now to buisness," the man said "your boss Harold Bennett was in an accident this morning, he unfortunately passed away, but that's good news for one of you,". "How so?" Cyrus asked. "It leaves a vacancy in need of filling, and that comes down to one of you," the man said, "so who's it going to be?". "Cyrus" Alice said before anyone could say anything else. "Why do you want me to take over?" Cy asked. "You earned it taking that bullet" Alice said as she held Cy's hand. "Well then Cyrus it seems like you're going to be taking Harold's spot and working under me" the man said, "my name is Reid Tompkins,". "Thank you sir, I look forward to working with you," Cy said. "As do I, you're free to go, enjoy your day" Reid said as he unlocked the doors. "We did it," Alice said getting in her car, "Let's celebrate how about a date night up at out spot?" . "Sure, let me swing by the store and pick up my meds, and then we can go," Cy said as he kissed her "I love you, and I'll see you at home," Cy said as Alice nodded then drove home.
Cy drove to the store and picked up everything then started driving to their apartment thinking about all they'd been through the last few years then turned towards Alice's parents house. Once there Cyrus knocked on the door and Chuck answered. "How can I help you?" Chuck asked. "Can we talk?" Cy asked. "Let's go to my study," Chuck said walking into the house, "so what can I do for you?". "I'd like to ask for Alice's hand in marriage," Cy said. "Marriage is a big responsibility kid, are you sure you're ready for that?" Chuck asked Cyrus. "When I was in the hospital Alice could have went home and slept comfortably in our bed but instead she chose to stay with me, I have no doubt in my mind that I can handle this" Cy said. Chuck looked at Cy and said "no matter what I say you're going to ask aren't you?". "Yes sir, this was more just a formality, and letting you know" Cy said as he sat waiting for Chuck's answer. "Do you have the ring?" Chuck asked. "Yes" Cy said taking out his parents rings, "so what do you say?"Cy asked. "You have my blessing," Chuck said "I'll tell Leena when she gets home. Cy stood up and shook his hand and thanked him then left and headed home. "Hey babe," Alice said as Cyrus walked into their apartment. "Hey, I got my meds," Cyrus said, "What if we hit up the arcade?". "Sure, feeling reminiscent?" Alice asked as she finished making their food. "Yeah, and you know how I love the view as night falls from our spot" Cy said as he kissed her cheek.
A few hours passed and the two had been at the arcade for a while then headed to their spot on the mountain and ate what Alice packed. "Shit I left my meds in the car, can you go get them they're in the center console?" Cy asked sending Alice to the car as a distraction. "Sure," Alice said getting up and going to the car then coming back. "Ever since we met I couldn't get you out of my mind, I love you with all I am and all I have," Cy said as Alice stood in front of him, "I never wanna spend another day without you, Alice Johnson will you marry me?". Alice looked at him and dropped his medicine hugging him, "yes, of course I'll marry you". Cy stood up and kissed Alice then slipped the ring on her finger. She looked down at the ring then noticed Cy's necklace, "you didn't just propose with this," Alice said "these mean way too much to you for you to propose with them". "You mean more to me than the rings" Cy said kissing her.
