"YUI... WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THE FLOOR AGAIN?"
Spirit is back. Seek had warned Yui beforehand, so the girl threw herself on the floor and appeared to be resting.
"I'm tired," whines Yui, quite realistically. "And this weird eye appeared. Made of some goop."
Successfully feigning ignorance, but deciding not to be too dumb, she adds, "It probably means something bad, right?"
"...alright. I'll attempt to find some others by the time, okay?" Guiding Light falls for her well-hidden bullshit.
"Sure, Spirit," smiles Yui, pulling out croissants and handing one to Spirit. "Can you eat?"
"Hm," hums Spirit. She takes the croissant, looking it over. "I'll have it later," she nods, and disappears into sparkles- presumably to look for some other entities.
Seek snickers through the connection, the eye rolling in amusement.
Are you sure she can't hear us?, Yui wonders, keeping a neutral face.
Of course, little vixen, scoffs Seek. They cross their arms, leaning onto the checkered wall. This connection is private.
Alright then, Yui sighs in relief, making it look like a yawn. I look forward to meeting you, Seek!
Sure, they chuckle. Be ready.
Their comforting presence slowly fades from the connection, indicating that Seek's thoughts were no longer connected to hers. Yui slowly gets up, her back slightly sore, and looks around for the door so she could progress. What was the door number again?
"...what. in. the. world. of. muzan."
There are two doors. Door 021 and Door 022. Yui has absolutely no idea which one is the right door, and a sinking feeling in the back of her throat tells her that picking the wrong one would be bad. It also tells her that she shouldn't take Spirit's help, because that would be cheating and totally unfair to all the other poor souls that got stuck here. She knew there were others, because Spirit let it slip. She was a righteous girl. A little bit of the time.
"This is harder to understand than BSD lore," groans Yui.
"I don't have any more braincells for this, and I can't seduce my way out like I could in DnD..." she stops for a moment, thinking. "...can I? Will my seduction stat be high in real life as well? Nope, it depends on my roll," she begins to formulate a plan. "I need a good roll, at least above 18," she mumbles, remembering the rules. "If we take this faker, this duper- DUPE??- as a high-level... then-"
*knock knock*
"THE FU-"
Within the walls, a short, elvin-eared goblin snickers. How he loves to scare the Players! Their shrieks and screams were quite pleasing to the ear. But wait- this one seems more annoyed than scared. Scampering to a hole in the wall, the goblin watches as Yui collects herself and re-evaluates her plan silently and swiftly. She doesn't seem too fazed.
"Boring," he huffs, dashing to find another human to bother. "This one isn't scared."
Yui, meanwhile, carefully sits next to Door 22 and puts her plan in action. She'd decided that seduction was a little too risky- what if the entity wasn't into women?- so she devised a new plan- entities breathed, right? So all she had to do was wait beside a door. If she heard noises- little huffs, slight puffing, deep breaths- she'd take her chances on the other door. If not, she'd check the other door before choosing one.
"But it is going to be boring," Yui warns herself in a mumble.
"...What will?" a light, sirenlike voice whispers at her ear.
"Listening for breathing sounds- OH DAMN!" Yui scrambles away from the door. "MOMMY- UHM, I MEAN- unnamed entity, goodbye."
"I am not unnamed," huffs the feminine voice. "I'm called Dupe."
"If the shoe fits," shrugs Yui, inching away from the door. Secretly, she was punching the air in giddiness for two reasons: hot voice, and her guess was right. "I'll probably see you later, mo- I MEAN DUPE." Making a dash for Door 021, Yui speeds out of the room with pink ears.
"Oh, where are you off to in a rush?" Dupe calls. "Won't you come to this door instead?"
"Nope," says Yui, struggling internally. "Dupers get duped."
Stepping out, Yui sighs with relief, closing the damn door. She really did want to go- just for a minute, she swears! no harm, right?- but dupers get...?
Looking around the room, she's faced with-
"You have GOT to be kidding me."
Door 022, Door 023, and- Door 023?
"This one's easy." Yui crosses her arms. "I'm not making the same mistake again."
Confidently, she pulls open Door 022, and sticks out her tongue- blowing a raspberry in Dupe's face for good measure.
"HEY!" the now annoyed entity yells. "Don't mock me," she pouts, in a softer tone.
"...no."
﹌﹌﹌﹌
"Boy, that girl sure is relentless," huffs Yui. It is Door 025, and every single room had a Dupe Door. The number of eyes were also increasing. Yui was getting excited. The eyes gave off an ominous aura now- following her every movement closely, tracking her agility and speed.
The next door... has no eyes. "WHOO!" yells Yui, sliding down to the floor. "I can probably rest now, for a little bit."
Yui smirks internally. Acting like she had no stamina was fun. Seek was going to get quite a shock.
The room is a long, lonely hallway. Adorned with sad-looking floor-length windows, which displayed the gloomy atmosphere outside, the hallway is quite silent- save for the occasional flashes of lightning and bursts of thunder. The constant pitter-patter of the rain on the windows are comforting, to say the least. Yui wonders if she'll ever get out of this place.
"I will," mutters Yui. "I must."
...
"DAMN, I WAS DRAMATIC!"
