"Whatever someone you become, and wherever you are in the world, I'm sending you love. You 're my friend to the end."
-Spike Jonze.Eli sighs, closing her eyes. She slides down the leather couch.
"It's just a coincidence grandma... I didn't even know about it..." She sighs.
"Elica, there hasn't been electricity in the entire country for two whole weeks... Two. Ever since... Please Eli my neta... Have mercy..." Her grandma pleads.
"You have too much faith in me grandma. You give me too much credit. How can I be responsible for shutting down the entire country... Where could I get that much power... It's just a coincidence... You have solar panels over there at home, so why are you worried anyway?" Eli asks getting irritated.
"It's not a coincidence Eli. And it's not just about me. The entire country has come to a standstill... People are losing their jobs... Businesses are suffering... It's all over the news, the government has asked for interventions from international electrician gurus, and still nothing... No one is able to sort it..." Her grandma explains in a pleading tone.
"And you think I'm responsible?" Eli flatly asks.
"Me with my two twitching braincells?" Eli continues laughing.
"Eli, we know it's you." Her grandfather says from the background.
Eli is silent..
She suddenly speaks in a small voice.
"My entire world has come to a standstill. Why should I care if the country doesn't have electricity... There won't be any mercy, they killed Anabela, they killed my Ana and this is only the beginning... They are going to pay. They will offer sacrifices, pray, plead and nothing... God is punishing them..."
Nadi and D watch her, surprised as she speaks.
"Are you God Eli?" Her grandfather asks
"You know I don't believe in God" Eli responds.
"But you believe in yourself" her grandma states.
"Today is a Sunday... The day we buried her, let it be kept sacred and still, so no electricity. Monday is the day she left us, let it be kept sacred and still as well. Electricity will be back on Tuesday then." Eli says
"Okay Eli..."
"Bye grandpa, bye grandma... Your favourite netas say hi... Coffee too..." Eli grins giving the energetic puppy tummy rubs.
She ends the call.
"You cut the electricity and have shut down the entire country?" Nadi ask Eli, surprised there was no electricity for two whole weeks, being in so much pain, they have been out of touch with a lot of current affairs.
"Monopoly is a bitch..." Eli smiles at her before announcing that she's going for a jog.
D simply watches her. Who was this woman she married again?
When a devil falls in love, it's the most hauntingly beautiful thing ever. And you should be terrified, for she will go to the depths of hell for her.
Muscles hurt, sweat pouring from every pore in her body and Eli continues running.
(Flashback)
"Race you back... Whoever gets home last, has to do the dishes today..." Ana smirks at Eli as they jogAna starts running ahead of her,
"Aye mami... That's unfair, that's cheating..."
Ana is laughing and running- "losers weepers." She yells
