Jinki drummed his thumbs on the wheel as he drove down the long stretch of road. Kyungmi was looking out the window quietly, enjoying the view of the trees and their different colored leaves.
Jinki glanced at her and smiled. He could tell she was deep in thought, and he didn't want to interrupt them.
He turned on the ac and let the air blow in his face and mess his hair up.
Thoughts of marriage were running through his head. What he should say, how long it will take, what it will look like.
He looked at her again from the side and let out a silent sigh.
She felt his gaze on her and turned her head to look at him. She blinked,"What is it?"
He smiled at the road, then at her,"I'm just so glad I found you. And we're still together, almost five years.."
She could tell he was getting all emotional, and just smiled. "Me too."
She leaned forward to him and kissed his cheek. She smiled again, then grabbed his cheeks and held his face where he had to face forward. "Now watch the road."
He chuckled, but rubbed his cheeks softly. She was never one to be all lovey dovey and cheesy. Sure she liked to think about it with others, but with herself, she was always more closed with her affection.
Except on some days she'd be extra affectionate and he would always appreciate it.

They finally arrived in the small town that Jinki's parents lived in. She turned her head to look at him,"Gosh it feels like we haven't seen your parents in forever but we saw them at Christmas."
He smiled at her. Ever since her parents had died, his parents had treated her like she was their daughter. Actually they always did but after that they made sure to let her know it.
They pulled into his parents driveway and parked the car.
Novembre was in the back in her kennel whining because she had to pee.
Jinki let her out and the little dog ran out to the yard and popped a squat.
Kyungmi was walking to the front door when it opened. Jinki's mother came out of the house with a big smile on her face. "Kyungmi, I've missed you."
His mother walked out to her and hugged her tightly. "How was the trip?"
Kyungmi smiled down at her,"It was really nice. It's so beautiful at this time of year."
His mom nodded,"Oh, yes. Father has been out back raking all day. They're a hug pile of leaves back there."
Kyungmi grinned,"Sounds like fun."
Her head turned to see Jinki walk up and hug his short mother. He was smiling really big when he said,"I love you, mom."
She smiled and said it back to him. Then she pointed to the door,"You two get inside."
They all headed in, his mother holding Novembre with a smile.

After an hour of visiting, Jinki and Kyungmi walked out to the backyard and looked at the leaves on the ground.
Kyungmi turned to Jinki,"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
He grinned,"I think so."
They both ran out to the pile and jumped in.
They started laughing when the leaves flew everywhere. His mom stepped out side and shook her head with a smile,"You're almost thirty years old and still a child."
Jinki just laughed and his father came outside. He back hugged his wife and smiled at the two playing in the leaves.
Jinki's father smiled,"Remember when he did this as a kid?"
She nodded,"I still do."

His mother made super for them and they ate outside on a blanket. It was a beautiful afternoon.
When his parents went inside to go to bed, Jinki and Kyungmi stayed outside.
They lay down out the blanket, hand in hand, and stared up at the stars.
Jinki turned his head to her and smiled,"Im glad we could come out here together."
She smiled and leaned forward to kiss his nose,"Me too."
