Trigger warning: I wrote this years ago without any thoughts of it being serious. In this chapter there's a suicide attempt. Please don't read this if you're still struggling with the loss of our beloved Jonghyun...

Kyungmi had been living in the same apartment with Jonghyun so it would be easier to care for Jinki.
Jjong and Jinki were sharing the same room but in different beds and Kyungmi was in another room.
Jonghyun helped Jinki with his showers and getting him dressed. Kyungmi on the other hand, did most of the chores(Jonghyun helped when he wasn't busy with Jinki).
She did the laundry, dishes, made food and also helped with Jinki.
He had to move around the apartment on a walker because the wheelchair couldn't fit through the door. The poor thing looked like a little old man as he hobbled around on one foot.
He was also having to go to physical therapy two times a week. Things were starting to get brighter. Jinki hadn't shown anymore signs of brain damage and he was healing, slowly but surely.
Since he was older, it would take longer to heal than it would for a kid, but he would make it.

One Tuesday afternoon, Jonghyun and Kyungmi were sitting in the lobby of the physical therapy office. As they were waiting for Jinki, they made small talk and listened to some quiet music playing from Jonghyun's phone.
Jonghyun paused the music and said,"You want to hear a song I wrote?"
Kyungmi's eyes widened a bit,"You write? Why haven't I known this for the two years I've known you?"
He laughed awkwardly,"It's kind of just.. I usually write about really.. Personal things..."
She nodded with realization,"Oh, well yeah, I'd love to hear."
As the song played, Kyungmi was starting to feel worried.
The lyrics sang,"I try so hard to be happy, but it almost never happens. I've always been told I'm not enough, and now I've come to believe it. I just want it to all end." (lyrics are completely made up)
As the song ended, Kyungmi's eyes were starting to tear up. She looked at him and said,"That was beautiful.."
He smiled bashfully, and rubbed the back of his neck. He looked up at her without bringing his head up,"So.. What about the lyrics?"
Kyungmi looked at him with a small amount of sympathy. "The lyrics.. Are.. Sad."

He looked down at the ground as she wrapped an arm around him. As she did, she saw him swallow.
She asked,"Want to tell me what's up?"
He looked up at her with his teary puppy eyes,"I.. I'm struggling with depression..."
Her eyes softened and her hug tightened. "I know how bad it can be, I had it about three years ago. My doctor put me on the antidepressants, but they just made me feel worse."
A tear escaped from him as he said,"With Jinki, and.."
Kyungmi didn't push it and waited for him to speak. He waited a few seconds before saying in almost a whisper,"You."
Her eyebrows furrowed, confused,"Me?"
He brought his eyes up to meet hers, you could see his despair. "I..like you.."

That was the moment that Jinki was coming out on his walker. He stopped when he heard the words Jonghyun said.
He looked at him, hurt,"You.. Like my girlfriend..?"
Jonghyun was about to start sobbing and Kyungmi removed her arm from around him.
Jjong looked at Jinki, his lip quivering. "I didn't want to.. I don't want to.. I just.."
Jinki looked back and forth from the two of them and snorted,"Wow. Let's just go."

When they were back at the apartment, Jinki pointed to the two of them and said,"Switch rooms."
Kyungmi protested,"Jinki, we're not doing anything! Are you kidding me right now?"
His face was strict,"I said switch."

After everything had been moved over, Jinki asked to be helped into bed, and then went to sleep.
While he was asleep, she and Jonghyun stood out in the kitchen. He spoke first,"What are we going to do.. He thinks.. Oh I don't know what he thinks.. It's not like I can help my feelings."
Kyungmi put her hand on his shoulder,"Listen to me, Jonghyun. Everything is going to be fine. I'll just have to talk to him when he wakes up. He'll understand."
Jonghyun sniffled,"He's my best friend.. Even if I like you I wouldn't betray him."
She looked at him and sighed,"I'm sorry.. About you liking me.. I know it's not my fault.. But it isn't yours either. It happened. I just need to make sure you know.. I love Jinki.."
Her words stung but they were needed. He nodded with a sigh,"I know. It's okay... I'll be okay."
He didn't sound very convinced.

A few hours later, Jinki woke up. When he looked over at Kyungmi's bed, she was asleep with a book on her stomach.
He sighed,"How many times have I told her not to fall asleep while reading.."
He sat up and grabbed hold of his walker. He slowly hobbled over to her bed and sat down next to her.
He poked her cheek to see if she would wake. She didn't.
He sighed and thought about what happened earlier. He stood up again and started making his way to the door.
He got out the door and knocked on Jonghyun's room. "Jonghyun?"
There wasn't an answer. He opened the door slowly and saw Jonghyun laying on the floor with an empty pill bottle next to him.
Tears just started running,"Kyungmi!! Call 911!"

Jonghyun woke up in a hospital room about one hour after he overdosed on pills. He looked around to see Jinki and Kyungmi.
His lip quivered,"I'm sorry."
Kyungmi stood up and hugged him,"Shh.. It's going to be alright."
Jinki stood up after Kyungmi had left to get a nurse. He looked at him with tears in his eyes and said,"Jonghyun.. I.. I'm so sorry. I was such an ass.." Jonghyun started to cry, as Jinki embraced him.

Jonghyun was released from the hospital three days later. His depression was still strong, but now he could rely on both Kyungmi and Jinki."
