Kyungmi twirled around in the dressing room. She smiled at the long, silver, silky dress.
She opened the door and stepped out. "Jinki, how does this look?" She twirled for him and he clapped,"Wow! You're so beautiful!"
She smiled happily,"Thanks. I really like this one."
She got back into her regular clothes and they went to buy the dress.Jinki had told Kyungmi that there was a company banquet and that there'd be dancing.
He got everyone else to play along, while he had other plans in mind. The night of the banquet had come. Kyungmi slipped into her dress and got Jinki to zip her up.
He stood in a silver suit (matching again) beside her in the mirror. They both smiled and he said,"We look good."
She looked at him in the mirror,"You do. Me on the other hand.. I don't have any necklaces to match.."
He frowned at her,"You look beautiful without a necklace." He stepped away from the mirror,"But.. I bought this while you were trying that dress on."
He walked back to her and put a beautiful diamond statement necklace around her neck.
Her eyes widened,"Oh my gosh it's so beautiful!" She pulled Jinki around to her after he finished clipping it together and kissed him.
He giggled after the kiss and then took her hand,"Let's go. The CEO can't be late to his own banquet."Jinki had never told her where the banquet was, so when he headed to a smaller building she wasn't suspicious.
He went around to open the door for her and then held out his arm for her.
When they walked in the building, no one was there. She looked around confused,"Is this the wrong place?"
Jinki didn't reply, and instead brought her up the stairs on the other side of the room.
When they came upstairs, there was no one there. It seemed like nothing was there, except for a small table in the middle.
There was two candles on the table and only two seats.
Behind the table, the far wall, was a huge window.
Kyungmi looked up at Jinki,"Whats this?"
He smiled nervously,"I lied about the banquet.. I wanted to do something special for..." He stopped and she didn't want to ask him why.
She looked forward,"Everyone at work told me about the banquet though..." He nodded,"I got them to play along for me."
Kyungmi nodded,"Alright." He took that as her being okay with all of it, so he walked forward with their arms still linked.
He pulled out a seat for her and then pushed it in when she sat.
Jinki sat opposite her and smiled,"I've got food on the way."
She nodded,"So what is this all about?"
He shook a finger at her,"No questions." She raised an eyebrow but didn't push it.
Only about two minutes had passed when a man walked in holding two boxes. He set the boxes on a table that was brought in by another man, and then a third man entered in holding fancy silvers platters.
She looked at Jinki with wide eyes before watching the first man start to put the food onto the platters.
There was all kinds of dishes. It seemed that it was all seafood. The main dish was crab, or lobster, she wasn't sure. Maybe it was both.
There were scallops and octopus and tons more things.
Her mouth was starting to water as she looked at it, not to mention the smell was amazing.
When the men finished sorting the food the put a plate in front of both them with silverware.
They bowed and said,"Please enjoy your meal."
Jinki paid for the food and gave each man a 20,000 won tip. After taking the money they left the building as fast as they had come.Jinki stood up from the table and reached out his hand for Kyungmi's plate,"I'll get you want you want." He smiled but she shook her head,"No, I want to go see it all myself."
He chuckled and grabbed his own plate while she stood up and scurried over to the table.
After they finished picking out food, both of their plates were full.
Jinki poured them some red wine and then they started to eat.
Kyungmi let out a moan when she took her first bite,"It's so good..." He choked on a piece of food because he started to laugh.
After taking a sip of the wine he said with a strained voice and a smile,"Is it that good?"
She nodded while continuing to take bites of each part of her plate. While eating she noticed that behind Jinki on the far wall were some ovens. She looked at them confused before saying,"Why are there ovens here?"
He looked back at them and grinned,"See that box?" He pointed at a small dark box on the counter next to the oven.
She nodded and he said,"We're making that for dessert."
Kyungmi smiled happily,"Is it a brownie?" He nodded,"It's the kind that is still gooey after a while of it being baked."
She hopped up and down in her chair,"That's my favorite!"
For some reason that made him feel shy and he looked out the window.
She saw him looking out, and she did too,"Wow it's so pretty. You can actually see the stars from here since there isn't as much light pollution."After they finished eating, Kyungmi went over to the oven and asked,"What about ingredients?"
Jinki stood up and walked to the cooler that some of the food had been in. He pulled out eggs and oil,"Right here."
He walked over to the counter and she was putting the powder in a bowl. She said while mixing in the eggs, oil, and water,"You sure were prepared."
He laughed awkwardly, but to play it off he moved to turn pull out a pan. He sprayed it with the nonstick stuff and the handed set it on the counter.
Kyungmi started to put the mix into the pan, but couldn't get it in correctly.
Jinki pulled out a spatula from the counter and said,"You hold the bowl, I'll scrape it into the pan."
After getting most of it into the pan they stuck it in the oven and set a timer.
While they waited they sat in their chair by the window. They were licking the extra mix out of the bowl, and suddenly Kyungmi shot up.
She looked at her dress frantically,"Is there food on my dress? Wow I've been so careless!"
Jinki looked at the dress on all sides and shook his head,"There isn't anything on it."
She let out a relieved sigh and he chuckled at her.
When the timer beeped they both hurried to the oven. Kyungmi put on oven mitts and pulled it out and set it on the stove.
They both breathed deep and said in unison,"It smells so good." They laughed at each other.
After letting the brownie cool Kyungmi started to cut it. While she did Jinki walked behind her and put his hands around her waist and his head on her shoulder.
She smiled as butterflies in her stomach flew around softly.
She picked out a big crumb off the brownie and put it in his mouth. He groaned,"Oh, it's good."
She smiled and put a piece in her mouth. She didn't say anything, and instead put two pieces on two plates, knowing they'd both want more than one.
They sat down again in front of the window, letting out soft sighs as try chewed on the brownies. They had finished eating, and we're now just looking out the window silently. Jinki broke the silence by saying,"There's a reason I did this tonight."
Kyungmi knew that of course, but kept her mouth shut and watched him while he spoke.
He gulped,"We've been together for over four years now.. You're the love of my life. I want to be with you for the rest of our days. To take care of you, love you, and always make you laugh when you're sad."
She was starting to tear up while he was talking, then he got down on one knee and pulled the small box out from his pocket.
A tear escaped as he said,"Kyungmi, please allow me to spend the rest of my life with you by becoming my wife."
She pulled him up and kissed him,"You know my answer."
He smiled but then looked to the side,"It's a yes, right?" She laughed,"Of course it is."
She kissed him again and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I love you so much." He smiled,"I love you too."
