Skittery P.O.V

"Skittery! Skittery! Skittery!" Kloppmans voice rings out, and I feel with him slapping my foot, waking me up.

"What? I didn't do it!" I say, still half asleep. "Whaddya mean ya didn't do it? When you wake up, it's time to get up! And ya gotta wake y/n up, you know you're the only person in here she'll wake up for." He tells me.

Y/n, my best friend who happens to be the opposite of a morning person. She won't wake up for anyone besides me. Literally. The other boys have tried everything to wake her up, and they've never been successful, but the minute I so much as whisper something to her, she's fully awake.

I hop down from my bed, stretching before walking over to where y/n is laying, fast asleep.

I sit down on her bed and place my hand on her shoulder, shaking it gently. "Y/n, time to get up,"

She groans a bit, but I see her eyes flutter open nonetheless.

"Morning gorgeous," I flirt with her, and she groans again before saying, "Skittery, it's too early to flirt."

Y/n P.O.V
"Skittery, it's too early to flirt," I tell the boy sitting beside me. "Ah, come on, it's never too early to flirt," he responds.

I sit up, stretching my arms and rubbing my eyes.

"Maybe for you because you're a-" I shudder, "Morning person, but as you may have noticed, I am not. Flirting before noon is too early." I tell him.

"Whateva, just get up. I don't wanna be late because of you again," he says, ruffling my hair.

"Fine," I groan, and we both stand up to get ready.

I get dressed and ready for the day, meeting Skittery by the front door as I have every day since I met him.

He slings his arm around my shoulders, and I try to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.

We walk to the distribution gate together, laughing and talking the entire way there.

Once it's our turn to buy our papes, I notice the Delancy brothers looking at me creepily, checking me out.

Skittery notices this too, and he wraps his arm around me tighter, and the Delancy brothers give him a glare.

We buy our papes, and Skitterys grip on me doesn't loosen as we walk to our usual selling spot.

We have our daily competition on who can sell our papes fastest, and as I'm nearing the end of my papes, a young gentleman stops to buy one from me, flirting as he does so.

I don't flirt back. I just smile and nod. The guy realizes this is going nowhere and walks off with his paper.

I glance at Skittery, who is giving the guy a glare as he walks away.

"Skitts? What's wrong?"

"Nothin, I just don't like the way that guy was talking to you," he says, the look fading as he looks at me.

I notice a trend in Skitterys' recent behaviors, and I realize something.

"Hold on, you're not jealous, are you?" I ask him.

He looks as if he's gonna deny it, before seemingly changing his mind and saying "kinda...I just, I don't like it when guys treat ya like you're just some pretty thing to stare at...I mean, you're gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but you're so much more than that and i...i...I just love you and hate to see you treated like you ain't" His voice falters near the end, and I throw my arms around him tightly, startling him slightly.

"I love ya too, Skitts." I tell him, kissing his cheek.

His face goes all red, and he seems to hesitate before saying "fuck it" and kissing me deeply.

"I guess it'll be easier for you to wake me up if we sleep in the same bed, if ya know what I mean," I wink at him, making his face go all red again.

I love this flustered idiot.
