We stood in silence. Ranka had a weird smile plastered on his face. "So Dad/Ranka. How was work?" We asked. "I'm sorry I hated having to leave you two alone last night. And Reina, thank you for letting me borrow your perfume and eye shadow." He said hugging us both in a bone crushing hug after, quite literally THROWING Tamaki off his daughter and across the room. "That sound." Haruhi said. "He hit really hard." I said. "Oh dear, my left arm has been bothering me lately. It's so sore like I went hand-to-hand with some ferocious beast." He said. I looked at Haruhi and she had the same look on her face. "Maybe I've just been working to hard." He chalked it up to that. "Please sir, it's not what it looked like." Tamaki sputtered out. "I sure could use a cup of hot tea right now." Ranka continued to ignore Tamaki's plea. "Hot tea?! I'll get it for you!" Tamaki blurted out loudly. "Do you use firewood to boil it Haruhi?!" He asked frantically. "Calm down Mon Ami." I tried to reason. "No I will not calm down Reina! Help me out your caregiver wants tea!" He continued frantically. Ranka immediately took him down with his foot...in his heels. I winced. "That's why I tried to tell you to calm down." I stated flatly. "Oh my would you look at that? I seem to have come across a little pest." Ranka spat. "Would you like to tell me why you're addressing my daughters with such informalities, young man?" Ranka sneered.
It was unbearable to watch as Ranka grilled Tamaki. Clearly, he already settled on the fact he didn't like him. "Wow, and I thought he was over doing the welcome with me." I whispered to Haurhi. "Hey boss, what's taking you so long?" The twins asked. "Yeah Reina you too, you just ran up the stairs-" They added. "Whoa check it out that person we passed down stairs was Haruhi's father." They realised. "HIKARU! KAORU! HELP ME OUT HERE!" Tamaki wailed. They just stepped over him well...rather on top of him. "It's nice to meet you Haruhi's dad and big sis' caregiver!" They greeted him cheerfully. "We're good friends of your daughters: The Hitachin Brothers." They introduced themselves. Haruhi had fallen to her knees and I just stood there watching them. Ranka seemed to have calmed down too. "So you're a transvestite are you?" Hikaru asked. "You're the first real one we've ever seen!" Kaoru stated cheerfully. "You finally put the moves on Haruhi, huh boss?" They asked. That got Haruhi's attention. "Sorry about him. He's a ladies man! If you know what we mean?" They said. Ranka looked to me and I shrugged my shoulders. "I mean." I said. "I bet he's fooled around with more ladies than you can count!" Kaoru added and I shook my head. "He likes to fool around, huh?" Ranka said lowly. I pulled them aside. "Are you trying to get him killed?! He had already taken Tamaki down just for addressing me and Haruhi by our first names you knuckleheads!" I scolded. "NO! I'm not a ladies' man!" Tamaki defended. "I'm a nice guy! I care about her!" He confessed. Mine and the twins' jaws dropped to the floor. Tamaki dropped to the floor and bowed to Ranka. "I'm being completely honest here; I care about Haruhi like she's my own daughter." Tamaki said. "And as for Reina! She's a sister to me!" He said and I looked at him and smiled half-heartedly. "Oh Mon Ami." I said sympathetically.
I looked to Ranka and I could read it as if it were scrawled out: He thinks Tamaki's an idiot. "It was my first impression too Ranka." I whispered. Soon the other boys came up the stairs due to impatience and the commotion. Kyoya walked to me and I explained to him quickly what happened. He nodded in understanding. "He thinks he's an idiot doesn't he?" Kyoya asked me. "What do you think my dear. Surely, you had the same first impression as I did, as Haruhi did, and as Ranka did." I said. He nodded. "Fair enough." Kyoya said. We all sat down and I gave Ranka a calm but quick explanation. "I get it. You must be the host club I've heard so much about." Ranka finally said. I looked at him confused. "You certainly are a fine looking bunch of men." Ranka commented. "I'm not sure which one of you I like the most! What about you, Dear? Reina, Darling, I know you like Kyoya the most." He said pinching my cheek.
"I'll tell you what: Why don't you all call me Ranka? That's the professional name I use at the transvestite bar I work at." He said with happiness. "And that's what my Raina Darling calls me." He said. "You told me the same thing when I met you, Ranka." I pointed out leaning against Kyoya. "Professional name? Like a stage name?" Honey said. "Exactly like that Mitskuni." Ranka confirmed shocking Honey and the rest of us. "Hold on: how did you know my name, sir?" Honey asked vocalizing our confusion. Ranka simply smiled. "You two are third years: Mitskuni Haninozuka and Takashi Morinozuka." Ranka said pointing to the pair. She then pointed to the twins. "And you two are in the same class as Haruhi; you're the Hitachiin twins Hikaru and Kaoru although I'm not sure which one is which, but you both also refer to Reina as Big Sister!" He said. "I've heard a lot about all of you!" Ranka concluded.
