It was approximately four days before Christmas and Niraiya's birthday. She grinned wildly as she blew out Kay's hair, getting him ready for the holiday season.

"Stop moving, Kay," Niraiya sighed, moving his head back into place, so it was straight. She used the blow-dryer with the comb attachment. She was almost done--almost ready to start straightening it, but Kay kept fidgeting between her legs. "Seriously, Kay, what is up with you?" She asked him, amused.

"Nothing, man, I've been sitting here for over an hour, my ass hurting," Kay grumbled, shifting around.

"Hold on, I'm almost done blowing out your hair, then I can start straightening it," Niraiya chided him, combing through the last section of hair, "see? I'm done. You can stretch for a minute." Instantly, Kay climbed onto his feet, cracking his back as he stretched. His shirt rode up, exposing his abs, and Niraiya quickly averted her gaze, focusing on gathering the clips for Kay's hair. She had plugged her straightener in about ten minutes ago, so she assumed it would be hot enough by now.

"I can't just go out like this?" Kay asked, walking over to her full body mirror, touching his hair.

"Boy, no," Niraiya giggled, waving him back over to her, "I can't let you go outside looking crazy. Now hurry up, you're complaining, but I'm the one whose doing all the hard work." Kay continued to grumble beneath his breath as he plotted back down on the floor between her legs, Niraiya sat on the edge of her bed with some hair products on the floor next to Kay and the straightener waiting on her nightstand next to her. "Okay, this is gonna feel hot." She warned, picking up the straightener. She used one of her long thin claw clips to pull back the rest of Kay's long hair.

She hummed as she prepared to straighten his hair, absentmindedly wondering if she put enough hair oil and heat protectant spray. Just as she was about to clamp down on Kay's hair, a phone vibrating broke her concentration and she let out an annoyed sigh.

"Kay, tell whoever's calling to call you back because there's no way you're going outside like this." Niraiya told him.

"My phone's not even ringing," he shook his head, holding up his iPhone which had an iMessage game on the screen, "its you, bro."

"Oh shit," Niraiya realized, putting the hair straightener back down, turning it off, fumbling around her comforter for her phone. Eventually, she found it, but she felt herself freeze as she read the name on the caller ID.

"Who is it?" Kay asked as Niraiya let the phone ring, slowly putting it down on the bed next to her.

"No one important," she dismissed the question, but her hand was shaking, so she just sat for a minute to collect herself before she attempted straightening Kay's hair.
