Niraiya stormed out of her college building, stomping towards Kay's hellcat. She didn't greet him--not really, just threw herself into the car, huffing and puffing.
"Raiya, you good?" Kay chuckled, a little put-off by her attitude.
"Yeah, just take me home," she spoke sharply, crossing her arms, leaning her body against the car door. It was a late night for her, having had an assignment and a lab for two classes back to back.
"What's wrong?" Kay asked, starting to drive. "Something happened at school?"
"I fucked up my lab and assignment even though I spent the last three days prepping for them," Raiya exhaled, willing herself to calm down, "I really tried my best but during the lab, the professor was asking me questions and I just drew a blank. All those hours studying and reviewing for nothing." She muttered, feeling a headache come on. Her body sagged, losing the tension, and Niraiya just felt defeated. She was always the kind of girl that prided herself on her academic accomplishments because it was a value her parents always instilled in her, but she wasn't perfect, and she knew that, it was just frustrating for her.
"I'm sorry, Raiya," Kay shook his head with a frown.
"Its okay," she sighed, "nothing to do with you, Kay. Thanks for picking me up, though."
"Always, but aye, you got plans for tonight?"
"No, I don't even wanna look at my books right now. Why?"
"Good 'cause we going somewhere," Kay hummed, "you hungry?"

"You bribed me with Chickfila, so I would go with you to the studio?" Niraiya asked, sipping her drink. She'd finished her food as soon as Kay gave the bag to her, much to his surprise. Even now, she led him to the room he always booked out, coming there so often, she navigated them with ease.
"Maybe," he shrugged.
"Boy," Niraiya giggled, pushing the door open. Kay held it open for her and she walked in, looking around with a frown. "Where is everyone?"
"Whatchu mean?"
"Like, Dougie? Setty? Blu? Nas? Usually everyone's up in here while you're recording." She stated.
"Nah, I didn't invite them, it's just us tonight," Kay clarified as he turned the lights on, "that cool with you?"
"Yeah, I don't mind," Niraiya smiled, stepping closer to the side of the booth where all the buttons and sliders on the control panel in front of her, "so, you gonna sing something?"
"Maybe, I'on know yet, you wanna try though? You ever sang into an actual mic before?" Kay asked, pulling up the mic arm. He took a seat in the office chair in front of the panel, turning on a few knobs before he sat back, satisfied. Niraiya eyed the mic reluctantly before sighing.
