Despite the fact it was New Year's Eve, Niraiya had no plans for the day. Her aunt had rushed out earlier, saying something about going out with the girls, and Khadijah had a photoshoot running late today so, she didn't wanna bother her. As for Kay, he'd told her he had to handle something, and she hadn't heard from him since earlier on in the morning.

She pouted to herself, before shaking her head, setting herself straight. She didn't have to be out all the time--sometimes, it was good to be on her own. Sitting on her bed in one of Kay's old hoodies that he'd left in her room, she used her MacBook to surf the web, but that only entertained her for so long before she sighed in boredom once again.

She felt a little restless so she pushed herself off of her bed, padding over to her desk area, turning on her PS4. Maybe gaming would help her feel better.

Just as she turned on her headset, her phone started to ring, and her face brightened when she realized it was Kay. She dropped her controller and headset onto her desk, reaching for her phone eagerly. Checking her hair, she pushed up her glasses higher on the bridge of her nose before she answered, willing herself to calm down.

"Hi Kay," she smiled.

"Hi ma," he chuckled, seeing her set up her phone on her monitor. He was in his car, driving, having set her on his middle console. "You doing something?"

"I was about to play video games, why? What's up?" She perked up excitedly.

"Nah, I'm on my way to get you right now, that's why. You wanna go out?" Kay asked her.

"O-oh, yeah, I'll start getting ready now, how far are you?" She asked, scrambling up, grabbing her phone and heading over to her dresser to pull out some clothes.

"Like ten minutes away," Kay said calmly, and Niraiya huffed, rummaging through her drawers quickly. She pulled on a nude brown Essentials sweatsuit, facing her phone towards the ceiling as she changed.

"Wait--is this a date?" Niraiya realized, snatching up her phone, "I'm wearing a tracksuit, is that okay?" She asked worriedly, pulling her phone away to reveal her outfit. Kay glanced at her multiple times, trying to focus on the road at the same time.

"Yeah, you good, I'm close now, go downstairs and wait for me."

"Okay," she mumbled, stumbling over to put on a pair of her old converse shoes. She grabbed her bag from where it sat on her side table by her bedroom door. Swiping off of the call, Niraiya quickly texted her aunt, letting her know that she'd be going out as she left the apartment. Kay hung up shortly after.

As Niraiya stood on the curb, waiting for Kay to pull up, she realized had no idea where he was taking her.
