"You're alive! Finally!"

Niraiya sat on her bed. She clutched Sav's phone tightly in her free hand, as she held her iPhone up to her face, on FaceTime with Khadijah. Once she'd taken her phone off Do Not Disturb, the messages, calls, and endless notifications from all her social media accounts began pouring in. Sav sat next to her, trying to poke her head into the camera to say hi.

"I'm so overwhelmed," Niraiya whispered to Jah who scrunched up her face, "like, Kay really took my vocals and made me a song."

"I had no idea he was planning to do all this, like--I was with him and Dougie last night and this nigga got in his feelings, I deadass have never heard Kay sound so broken," Khadijah sighed, "apparently he's been working on it for a while, but I don't know all the details. You gotta talk to Kay. Why the fuck haven't you called him yet?"

Niraiya bit her lip nervously.

"Bitch! Are you scared to fucking call him?" Khadijah exclaimed, furrowing her eyebrows, "Niraiya. That man made a song about you--used your vocals and your lyrics. He made that little lyric video for you. Damn near professed his love and you're scared to call him?" Khadijah asked, voice softening towards the end of her sentence. "Bae, call him or if you not gon' call him, you need to go see him. He's at home right now with his family but I know he wants to hear from you."

"I would go see him but I can't. I'm back in Toronto."

"That's why we couldn't fucking find you--you hopped on a flight... "

"Yeah... now, I don't know what to do. I'm at my aunt's house right now and everyone's downstairs celebrating because it's Christmas, and it's my birthday--if I run out, they're gonna ask questions."

"Raiya, the whole internet is asking questions. They're wondering where you are and why you haven't posted yet about the song. People are gonna ask questions, but it's up to you whether or not you want to address them, and clearly being in a different country doesn't stop you from doing what you want. Do what you did earlier--catch a flight."

"It's not that simple," Niraiya tried to argue, reluctantly giving Sav her phone back once she saw her reaching for it, "I can't just run away from my family--"

"You really can though," Sav shrugged, "would you hate me if I said I bought you a plane ticket just now?"

Niraiya almost broke her neck from how fast she turned to her cousin.

"What?!"

"Is that your cousin? I like her already," Khadijah chuckled, "what time is the flight for?"

"It leaves at two P.M., so you should get there around three," Sav estimated, pressing on her phone screen, "it's ten A.M. right now, so we have time to warn everyone before you disappear. You don't have to run away, but I think you need to talk to Kay as soon as possible."
