No Matter What.. Part 10
The game ends and we win 7-1. Natalie scored the most goals with 3, I had 2, Jennifer had 1, and Sydney had 1. The game was against Poquoson and they're pretty terrible. The only reason they scored is because the ref didn't call them on being offsides when the AR raised his flag since it was pretty obvious she was off by about three yards. I was so mad I started yelling at the ref and got carded. Coach V, that vile assistant idiot, was livid with me as always but the head coach Finley wasn't mad at all. He said he understood and that I just need to try to stay calm when the ref makes a bad call, because he was making A LOT.
When I finish taking off my gear I feel someone jump on my back and kiss my cheek. I turn my head to see Natalie smiling broadly at me. I finish putting my stuff in my bag and slip into my slides before picking up my bag and holding her legs as we start walking to the parking lot. I'm glad we had a home game because you have to ride the bus to the away games and back if your parents don't pick you up after the game and my family never comes to my games unless it's to bitch so I end up riding the bus home anyway. When we get off the field I see Abagail standing there with a smile on her face when she sees me but quickly turns to confusion when she sees Natalie on my back. When we get over to her I let go of Natalie and give Abagail a smile.
"Great game guys" Abagail says to the both of us
"Thanks" we both say in union
"Oh um Abigail this is Natalie. Natalie, Abigail" I say introducing them to each other
"Hi" Abagail says hesitantly
"Hello" Natalie replies, sizing Abagail up
"Well we umm..have plans so I'll catch you later Abigail" I say giving her a quick hug
"Ok bye. It was nice meeting you Natalie" she says politely
"Ya you too" Natalie says before grabbing my hand and pulling me away
We get back to Carter's house after a very quiet, tense ride home. Natalie has been staying at Carter's with me for the past few days so she's been with me a lot lately. When we get inside she immediately heads upstairs without saying a word to me. I trail behind her and when I get into the room I see her getting clothes together to take a shower. I can tell she's basically telling me to forget about our plans since they're her pajamas. I walk up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist and leaning down to kiss the side of her neck.
"I'm not in the mood right now" she snaps at me while trying to pull away but I hold her tighter
"What's wrong?"
"I saw the way you looked at her" she says sounding angry but I could hear the hurt in her voice
"What do you mean?" I ask confused
"Who is she Jenna? Did you date her or something??"
"No. She's just a new friend. We met a bit before you and me got together, so if I really wanted to be with her I had the chance to"
"So you want me?..."
"Of course. I wouldn't be here with you right now if I didn't" I say trying to reassure her
She turns in my arms to wrap her arms around my neck and pull me down for a kiss. When we're done she's smiling and biting her lip at me. I smile back as she leans up to give me one last peck on the lips before pulling away and putting away the clothes she had taken out. She gives me another kiss before going into the bathroom and closing the door behind her. I sigh in relief to myself, knowing she's not mad anymore and I'm no longer in trouble, then leave the room to shower in the bathroom down the hall.
