A week later...

Hermann's POV

I realized that I shouldn't be researching Diaz. I don't want to betray the trust that's built between us. If she wants to talk about it, she can come to me and talk about it freely. But I still feel that it doesn't open easily.

Logan's POV

During the past week, I felt better and better in the barracks. Everyone is very kind, protective, listening, and lots more. They're all starting to become my family. I understand again what the word "family" means.

We are currently at a scene, when there are shots fired. I have lived with gangs all my life, so I know a lot about them. I am also highly respected by them, don't ask me why, but I have already helped them. Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to save the world, so I learned how to heal and save people. It will be said that it has served me in my life many times. Right now, everyone is down. I can hear several male voices in addition to the gunshots. I realize I recognize the voices, so I start crawling around to see what's going on.

LC: Diaz, no stay here.

I don't listen to Lieutenant Casey and I crawl further. I see there are six people, all men. I know them all except one person, probably a new one. They're two different gangs, they're enemies, everybody knows that. On the one hand, there is the Latino gang, and on the other, there is the Colombian gang. So I decide to stand up and go to them. To make sure I'm safe, I'm behind a car. As the shots did not stop, I decided to take action before others were injured.

D: Mateo, Alejandro, Carlos, Juan and Alvaro, stop your bullshit right now

Suddenly, the shots stop. They turn around to see where my voice was coming. Once they found me, they came to me. I see that everyone is starting to get up, and they're scared. I also approach the boys.

D: What were you doing? You could have hurt many people, or worse, killed them. What the hell are you guys thinking?

? : And you think you're the one to lecture us, you're just a firewoman.

All of a sudden, he faces five guns.

M: You never talk to him like that, unless you want to die. She is the most respected person of all the gangs in Chicago, and all that without leaving a gang. Then I will be you, I will shut up. And don't worry, Leon, the boss will hear about it.

D: Boys, it's okay, no need to be so protective. Hand me your weapons now. And don't complain, you know I'm doing this for your own good. You know very well that if the police see you with guns, you'll get shot.

One by one, the boys give me their weapon, and I disarm them.

D: Now before the police get here, tell me what's going on.

J: Their new kid decided it would be fun to start a gang war by shooting at us. We just shot to defend ourselves.

D: Where do you think it's fun to start a war by getting smart with a gun with people around you, Leon?

L: Don't talk to me like that, or you'll regret it.

The boys automatically put themselves in front of me to protect me. I was going to answer when the police arrived.

?: What's going on here?

J: The bastard shot us.

D: Juan, your vocabulary. Just because he thought it was smart to shoot you, with a lot of people around, doesn't mean you forget your manners.

?: Who are you?

D: Logan Diaz, I'm an intern at 51.

?: Sergeant Voight, Intelligence. Diaz, you're telling me something.

D: If you say so.

SV: Can't you connect it to the house that burned down years ago? I remember a little girl who went back to that house and disappeared. We never found your parents, despite many attempts.

D: It was me.

ALE: You never told us that, Log'.

D: I don't like to talk about it.

SV: And so, if you're that little girl, you're also the most respected person of all the gangs in Chicago.

D: That is correct.

Once Sergeant Voight's done, I'm heading to the truck.

During the shooting...

Hermann's POV

I see Diaz starting to approach the gunshots to see what's going on, despite Casey's ban. I wonder what she's doing until she gets up and calls the boys. The shots have stopped. Everyone starts getting up to watch what happens. As soon as we can see what is happening, we see Diaz lecturing men. All of a sudden, the youngest of the boys is faced with guns. You can see that the men are very angry. Fortunately, Diaz managed to disarm the situation, as well as the guns. I look around, and I see that everyone is wondering how she did that to herself. I think the younger one still hasn't learned his lesson, as the boys stand in front of Diaz in the form of protection. It's all over very quickly because Sergeant Voight and his team are coming. He talks for five minutes, and then Diaz leaves. Before we go, Voight comes to us.

SV: You have a very valuable person there. She's been through a lot, and I assure you, she's come out very strong. I think she gave you a little demonstration.

H: Wait, you know her from before?

SV: Of course, you, Mouch, and Boden know her. Don't you remember years ago when a little girl disappeared after she ran into a burning house?

H: I finally remembered her, her name sounded familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

SV: She has no one, we never found her parents, they fled.

H: This is terrible.

SV: Yeah, I have to go.

Voight leaves, and I realize that Diaz is not just anyone.
