Chapter 6

Logan's POV

Once we get to my house, Oscar goes back in his car. The evening is fast, so I go to bed.

During the night, I hear noise outside my home. I don't think of any of this and I try to go back to sleep, but I can't. The noise is persistent. I get up from my bed to open the door and tell them to turn the volume down. But when I open the door, I get shot repeatedly. A few minutes later, I see someone running towards me and everything goes dark.

Carlos's POV

I was out watching our streets when I heard several shots near Logan's. Since I know people are after her, I run as fast as I can to get to her house. Once I arrived in her street, I saw her on the ground bleeding out. I sprinted to go and rescue her. As soon as I get there, I'll call 911.

911: 911 what is your emergency?

C: My friend just got shot several times. We're in the Colombian gang neighborhood. To find us, you'll just have to listen to the shots. And get Sergeant Voight of Intelligence back here right away.

911: Okay, paramedics are on their way, and we've notified Sergeant Voight. Can you give me more details?

C: She's still breathing, but she's unconscious. She's been shot three times. She's got two bullets out.

911: Okay, help will be here in two minutes. Good luck!

C: Okay, thank you!

As soon as I hang up, I whistle our secret code to say something happened to Logan. Once I've done that, I hear everyone starts whistling, everyone comes running, and I turn to Alvaro.

C: Shoot shots in the sky, and Julian, warn all the gang leaders, and tell them to come and hurry. Oh, and tell them to fire a shot in the sky when they get the message and when they leave.

A & J: OK

Very quickly, shots are fired in the sky, and we hear many sirens coming towards us. Very quickly, help arrived. A few seconds later, we saw Sergeant Voight with his team. As soon as they got out of their cars, we heard a first shot, followed by a second seconds later. Then shots come and go in the sky for a few minutes at different times. Sergeant Voight comes to see me.

SV: What happened then?

C: She was shot three times. The person ran away.

SV: Okay, the police have been notified, and a lot of people are starting to arrive.

C: Don't worry, it's the same here, all the gangs have been warned, and they're coming.

On this last sentence, we go our separate ways.

Very quickly, all the gangs arrived. All the gang leaders came to me quickly. We started discussing what we were going to do. Once we agreed, we brought everyone together.

Oscar's POV

Once we've all decided, I get in a car so everyone can see me.

O: Oh, everybody, listen to me. Yeah, it's true, Logan got shot, and you all know she was in danger because of her parents. So we tried to kill her. That's why, after discussing it with all the gang leaders, we decided to unite to find his parents and deliver them to Sergeant Voight. In the meantime, we stop everything we do, and we walk the streets trying to catch them. We get the whole thing out, guys. If anyone disagrees, say so now.

I see a little hand up.

O: What do you have to say?

? Excuse me, who is this Logan?

I see that Pablo starts coming towards me and getting on the car.

P: This Logan, as you say, is our princess. She is the most respected person of all our gangs. So if someone attacks her, we attack everyone. That woman is a woman of gold. You don't know, but she may have already saved your life or even your parents' life. So we're going to do everything we can to save her, just as she could save us. We're going to save her from her parents. And we're going now.

O: Voight?

SV: Yeah?

O: Do you have a picture of her parents that you could give us?

SV: Yeah, I'll send it to you.

He sent me the picture.

O: Okay, we're going to send you this picture, and you're going to memorize it. You're going to go out into the streets and ask everybody if you've seen them. You go in groups of six. I don't care if the gangs are mixed or not, the only thing I want is no confusion. If you get something, or you have news, you fire shots in the sky until the world begins to happen. Go ahead now, we're not wasting any more time.

Everyone starts slowly by leaving.
