Mia's POV

Don't ask my why in the hell I'm sitting across from a famous celebrity that scared away my only chance of getting across the country as we gulp down glasses of alcohol. I couldn't give you that answer even if I tried.

The minute I really gave him a look, I knew he was in that boy band One Direction that every female in the world yearns for. Even a few of my friends had posters of them taped up inside their lockers. I never really bought into the whole 'boy band' stuff; just not my style.

But so far this boy - Louis - seems to be sort of alright. After I yelled at him, he seemed incredibly guilty and suggested we get something to eat and talk. We've been in this bar-restaurant for an hour now and he's been nothing but polite and friendly; not at all what I expected.

"So, Mia or something," He smirks, referring to the inside-joke we managed to create within minutes of knowing each other, "Tell me about yourself. You've got to be one of the most mysterious people I've ever met," He tells me, the alcohol obviously helping him warm up to me more quickly than usual.

Usually I don't give any sort of information to the people I meet along the way of my journey; what's the use? It's not like I'm ever going to be in contact with these people again. Will it really matter if they know me or not?

But the alcohol warming my insides brings different ideas into my brain. Aren't you sick of lying and hiding from everyone? Wouldn't it be nice to just... talk?

I tuck a piece of long brown hair behind my ear before folding my hands in front of me on the table. I purse my lips, wondering where to even start? What is even relevant?

"My name is Mia Elizabeth Walden. I grew up in Northern California. I love to draw; my specialty is portraits. I like vintage things, especially movies..." I start to run out of interesting things about me that are worth knowing.

I bite my bottom lip as I wrack my brain, trying to think of something that I would like people just meeting me to know; things that make me, me.

Apparently I'm an incredibly boring person...

"How about you, boy from that one boy band named Louis? Let's hope you're much more interesting than I am," I shrug, taking a fry from my plate and chewing on it.

It's been awhile since I've had such a good meal, I'm trying to savor it for as long as possible. I'm sure it appears that I'm playing with my food, but it's the total opposite of that.

Louis laughs, beaming at me with a smile - something he seems to do a lot; more than a normal person.

"My name is Louis William Tomlinson. I grew up in Doncaster back in England. I obviously enjoy singing and playing football - or I suppose you'd call in soccer..." He scrunches his nose as he gives me a bit of information about him, but it doesn't take long for him to start drawing up blanks as well.

I feel like you can't properly tell someone about yourself. In order to get to know someone, you have to learn these things on your own. If you asked me to tell you about my best friend, or my mom, I could talk all day long; but me... not so much.

"You forgot the part where you like to act as a knight in shining armor and save damsels in distress off the streets," I remark, giving him a look full of fire and challenge in my eyes.

Sort of hoping to embarrass him a little, I was disappointed when he just laughed and smiled in return. It seems like that's all he's ever doing; smiling. I suppose I would be too if I was filthy rich with not a problem in the world.

"I'd say you're less the damsel in distress and more the mysterious character that you're not sure whether you trust them or not," He counters, acting rather fearlessly. I'm sure the alcohol has a part in that.
