I looked up and looked at Emily. She smiled widely at me and started signing.

Abella, this is your brother, Sebastian Vinetti. He's going to be your new guardian. It seems that he is the only one available at the moment as we haven't found anyone else to take over custody. So for the meantime, we'll be sending you to live with your brother. Emily signed, and her lips were moving as well, most probably speaking out loud so Sebastian would understand. I looked at Sebastian as he sat, staring straight at me with a blank expression. He was buff, and had a few tattoos poking out from his shirt on his neck and on his hand. He was practically a giant compared to me, around 6'4, maybe 6'5, I'm not sure. His face held no emotion what so ever, his posture screamed control, dominance, power. We made eye contact and I kept my expression blank before turning back to Emily.

Now, your brother here isn't really familiar with ASL, so I've went ahead and brought you a little notepad this morning to help you communicate better. I've also provided your brother with some links and information so that he can learn ASL on his own time. Emily slid me a small notebook covered in little cute animated insects like fireflies, butterflies, bees, yk yk.. It was very colorful. She handed me a two-pack of pens, one purple and one green. I stared at her with a blank expression.

She looked at me awkwardly. I think I'm starting to not like her again. I bit down on my lollipop, finishing it up before tossing the stick into a trash can a few feet away.

Seeing as this wasn't going anywhere and Emily was clearly having trouble communicating, I sighed and picked up the pack of pens, ripping it open and taking the purple one, clipping the green one onto my sweater string, letting it hang before grabbing the little notebook off the metal table.

Can we go now?

I lifted the book and showed what I wrote. Emily jumped up nodding hastily.

Yes you can I just need your brother to sign a few things and you can be on your way. Emily fumbled with a few papers before sliding them over to Sebastian, and he quickly signed, dropped the pen, and stood, towering over the two of us.

Alright Abella, it was a pleasure meeting you. I really hope all goes well with your new family. Here's my card if there's anything you need me for. I'll be coming by to visit you in a couple weeks once you've settled down.

I stood, shoving the card into my sweater pocket, grabbed my little notepad, and followed Sebastian out. I didn't fail to notice the wary glances people gave him, as well as a few who immediately lowered their heads or cowered under his presence.

Sebastian Vinetti. I'd heard that name before. He was a successful businessman who took over his father's business at the age of 19. He had 7 siblings that he'd taken care of since he was 18 when his dad died. Their mother had already died a few years prior, in a plane crash. So he'd been left to care for his 7 siblings on his own. Now, I'm not exactly sure how his dad managed to knock up my mom, but I'd never imagined I'd have 8 half-siblings. And damn their mom was a hoe. Wait, shit, I shouldn't have said that. I internally cringed, I don't even know her. Sorry.

Why'd I say sorry she's literally dead. Fuck this arguing with myself is starting to annoy me. Like when your own thoughts actually start to annoy you.

I bumped into Sebastian and realized we had stopped in front of a nice, shiny new black car. There was a driver already in the front seat, and some dude who held the door open for Sebastian and I. Sebastian was waiting for me to get in before him. I climbed in and sat down on the leather seats, and Sebastian climbed in after me before the guy who held the door open closed it behind him. I sat next to the window on the right whilst Sebastian sat to the left, the middle space left open.
