~1 year later~
I still talked to Tao everyday. We were basically talking about everything. I knew him well, and he even lived nearby. I wanted to visit him, someday.
*To Tao:
I'm heading to work soon :(
*From Tao:
Aw, good luck with that. Buy me candy.
*To Tao:
And then do what with it?
We always had these moments, he'd cheer me up when I had work. He never found out about Xiumin or Kai. It wasn't important anymore.
*From Tao:
Eat it for me.
At home, Hajae and I didn't do much of anything, other than work and try to survive in the house we were stuck in. It was actually two weeks after my 19th birthday.
Hajae sat in the living room, most likely getting ready for another day of work. It was Wednesday, August 22. That meant soon Minah would be going back to school soon, which was both good and bad for me. I didn't have to deal with the brat, but I wouldn't be able to get money from babysitting.
I avoided thinking too much during the passing year. Even five seconds alone led to me thinking about what happened one year and two months ago. Hajae hardly talked about it, for both of our sakes. I didn't know how she felt. She didn't talk about her feelings either.
Things were the same as back then, when Xiumin and Kai left. The only difference was that I was over them, well I was over Kai. Xiumin, not really at all. Okay, I wasn't over Kai much either. But the point, I was learning to except it that they ditched us.
"Hyojin, let's go!" Hajae shouted from the living room.
*To Tao:
Gotta go.
I scoffed/chuckled, "Usually it's you who's being rushed, not me."
*From Tao:
Goodbye, Hyo-hoe.
"Hardyharhar." She sarcastically laughed, "I'm serious. I heard a really cool song on the radio earlier, and I want you to hear it at work."
I shook my head, smiling. "What song is so important that we have to speed to work?"
"It's by Beast. Good Luck." She informed me of this group.
"Alright then." I shrugged it off and began walking toward the door to leave.
Outside, we got in Hajae's car. She started the engine with a roar, then pulled out quickly. The radio was turned on quickly, and began playing random songs that we knew. Beast, Super Junior, BTOB, Block B, and more.
There was hardly conversation on the way there. But when we pulled in, she got excited. She really wanted me to hear this song.
As we walked in, our uniforms on and straight, I could hear the radio was turned on, but not high enough to recognize any tones or words.
"Oh, you're here!" Jeanna sighed with relief when she saw the two of us. "I need to leave. Hyojin, take over my shift."
The way she pushed me around, the way she pushed everyone around, always made me keep in mind why I worked here. I wanted to keep our house, simply because Xiumin used to be there. I wouldn't mind losing it if he hadn't bought it for the three of us, plus Kai who was always there. But that was why I put up with her. I needed the money.
I saw her hang up her smock and sign out, and her cheap perfume's scent disappeared when she walked out. I definitely wouldn't miss her fake eyelashes, bright blue contacts, and runny, horribly done, hot pink lipstick.
