Chapter 4.

Cassie feels at ease walking down the streets of this lovely downtown without too many people. In addition to this beautiful feeling when she walks down here every night at about 7 p.m. and just gets lost in her own thoughts.

Wearing her usual hoodie and ripped jeans she entered a vast building just in the middle of the city. When she got inside she talked to a front desk officer who asked for her ID.

"Hi, Ms. Cas how have you been doing?" the woman behind the counter was in her late 40's and wearing huge glasses like an Owl.

"Maria, I am alright. I need to get away from home for a little while and immerse myself in these amazing novels." She said this while attempting to find a place to relax, conceal from view, and read later.

"Sure, no problem." She remarked this as she reached for Cassie's ID and gave her a number to claim later. Cassie smiled back and entered the library. It smelled like paper and loved it. She eventually found a spot to sit, but first, she needs to select something to read.

Slowly passing through the other volumes, she came to a halt in the middle of the shelves where it labeled "Mystery, thriller." She loves to read this book and becomes lost in mysteries that hurt her head. One book with a dark-colored cover and a lot of pages to read piqued her interest. She removed it lightly from the shelf, and when she felt the dust on her fingers, she realized it must have been quite a while since anyone had come here to read it.

She opened the book and read the prologue, while reading she heard a gentle voice talking to someone in the corner. It disturbed her that they were at a library in which talking or making noise was strictly prohibited.

She still can't focus on what she's reading since this individual is still talking to someone. She decided to start searching for that particular person and speak to them, telling them they ought to leave the library or she would report them for disrupting her serenity.

Finally, she noticed a man with his back to her, wearing a black shirt and jeans and talking on his phone. She was ready to approach him when she decided to listen to the chat, which she knows is very inappropriate. Her mother always advised her not to pry.

"Why didn't you inform me you were leaving, Lena? Why do you do this to me all the time?" She can hear the pain in the voice of the person who is still on the phone and has his back to her. She is now wondering how the guy appears, but based on his height and build, he is considerably taller than her.

'This doesn't seem right. I shouldn't be eavesdropping on this kind of discussion.'  She was about to set off when she accidentally bumped her elbow on the corner of a shelf, causing several books to fall to the floor.

The man was startled and finally turned to face her. He hastily ended the conversation, embarrassed. She came to a halt and stared at him, lost in his deep blue eyes that felt like an ocean and gave her chills.
