Chapter 15.
Cassie was seated on her desk in their classroom when she got hit on the head with a crumpled piece of paper. She could hear the other students laughing. One of them approached her and she assumes it was their class president.
"Cassie correct? I don't believe we were properly introduced." The other pupils are now whispering to one another and giggling. "My name is Kate," she stated as she extended her hand her eyes seemed to be on something. She gazed at Kate's hand without batting an eyelash, still trying to register what this person was attempting to accomplish.Kate got annoyed when Cassie still hadn't returned her hand. "Are you not going to shake my hand? "Her brows creased as she asked.
"Nice to meet you, Kate," she said, ignoring her hand. When Cassie declined, Kate lowered her hands to her sides. Everyone was surprised and began to cheer. At that point, Kate rushed to get her water and poured it into Cassie's head, and everyone laughed. Cassie was devastated and freezing so she stood up, grabbed her bag, and ran out of their room.
With tears in her eyes, she headed directly to the ladies restroom. She would not allow anybody to see her sobbing; she really wanted to hit Kate, but she had to control her outrage. When she checked the time, it was 10:00 a.m., and she believed their other subject had already begun. She won't go back there in this state. She took a roll of toilet paper and dabbed it over her wet hair and body. Her eyes remain red from crying and hating the school she has attended. After an hour in the ladies' room, she knew she needed to go home or face the bullies in their classroom. She chose the first choice, hiding inside her private space and not wanting anyone to talk to her so she could be completely isolated and suffer silently. She slowly exited the ladies' room and saw that there was no one in the hallway, so she walked quickly past the other classroom, nervous that someone would notice her when all of a sudden Kate and the other bullies came out of the classroom, laughing and stopped what they were talking about when they recognized her from afar.
"Isn't it sweet, Cassie?" Cassie was standing in the middle of the corridor, about to turn and go when one of the other girls grabbed her arm.
"Stop it!" She yelled out loud because the other girl still had her hands on her arm and refused to let go. She went on: "You're hurting me." Kate has finally appeared in front of her, staring at her from head to toe with dislike.
"What kind of garment is that, what a freak," and the laughter continues. "Just let me go, I'm not bothering you or anyone else," her voice had a croak to it.
"Do you believe you aren't disturbing us? Simply looking at you makes us think you're a nuisance." She snatched Cassie's garments and ripped a portion of her upper blouse, exposing half of her undergarment. Cassie's eyes widened with humiliation, and she is trying not to cry, while her arms are still locked with the other bully.
"Do you like it? Why don't you show some skin rather than merely covering your body in rags?" Cassie's powerlessness was felt by the other girls.
"What do you think you're all doing?" Everyone became silent and looked around for the person trying to intervene. It was a male voice, and when they discovered who it belonged to, Kates's eyes widened.
"Hello, Luke. I am sorry for disturbing you in the corridor, but we have some business to take care of here." She went on to explain. Luke's eyes grew colder as he looked at Kate and the other females, and he quickly grasped the other girl's hand to let go of Cassie, then he took Cassie's arm and pulled her closer, he removed the jacket he had on and made Cassie wear it.
Everyone who witnessed what Luke did has questions. "I want everyone to know that harassing students in this school is prohibited; I can have you all expelled if I want, nonetheless, I want everyone to know that if I discover or see this type of bullying you are doing to Cassie again, I will make sure that someone will never have a chance to be enrolled in any prominent school ever again." His voice was authoritative, and his eyes were red with rage.
